October 2010 Brides?

One month from today is my wedding day!! So excited!!

 

As far as the weather goes, that is something that is out of our hands. The way I think about it is, you'll still be in Mexico getting married to your best friend with your closest friends and family with all the booze and food you want! Even with rain, it will be a blast!!

 

My to do list consists of finishing my ceremony script which I am pretty much done just figuring out the readings, playlist which is pretty much done to but we just want to revisit in case any new songs have come out that we want to add, buy cigars, picture frames for cake table etc.  I think that's it!

Wow I can't believe it will be October soon!

 

For the weather, I wouldn't worry about it. Just because it is raining alot now, doesn't mean it will in October. You should go online and see what the weather was like last year in October.

 

I am not getting married till the end of October (10/22) but here is my to-do list any way.

 

Get FI's vest and shoes for ceremony

Get candy for wedding favors

Get chocolate and chips for OOT bags

Pick entrance song for reception

Give DJ a list of songs for the night

Finalize details with WC

Book an appointment for a final haircut and color

Have a hair trial and decide on a wedding day hairstyle

Pick up and insure our wedding rings

Have legal ceremony here in PA and get a copy of wedding certificate

Iron all the chair sashes, table runners, and napkins I ordered for the reception

Finish pre-Aurba letter to guests

 

I think that is it but I am probably forgetting something.

Make cds of all the ceremony music and all the songs that have to be played during the reception (first dances and things liek that).

yes 115 guests...we did NOT expect that.  Our full guest list was at 290.  We didnt cut anyone and invited everyone we wanted to...but 115 was unexpected!!

I did the same thing! Bought a lot of luggage tags that were so cute and made personalized inserts but now I have decided to just put them in the Welcome Bags because once I figured out the postage, I declined. LOL

YIIIPPEEE!!! Our passports came Friday and I was starting to get nervous because we had to send our documents to the consulate withint 30 days out and we only have 21 days to go!! Can you say NERVOUS!!

Uh I am SO stressed right now! I have so much to do and it seems like my to do list is getting bigger and not smaller. My current to do’s I am working on: finishing the music selections and then downloading the songs I need and making cd’s and playlists, finishing up my welcome booklets, order the table runners and napkins and iron them with the chair sashes, fix the custom cake topper I ordered that came to me broken and not painted right or finished right and wrong, get FI to pick up his suit and get his shoes and vest, and talk to WC to try and finalize some of the planning. OH and lose weight so my dress will not onlyfinally be able to close, but close without squeezing my back fat together.

 

I am trying by best to not stress out, but it's hard!

On a good note, went to Mom's and did a hair trial and love it (she's doing it for the wedding), just recieved the "final details" sheet from the WC.  We leave one month from tomorrow!!

Hey ladies!!! I've been gone for a while but a lot has happened in my life! I was absent for the last couple of weeks because FI and I found out that he has a daughter and the lady never told him until now. So 3 weeks from what is supposed to be the happiest day of my life, I find out that I am also going to be a stepmother next month. The baby is young and I know it will be tough but so far we are just in shock and have been in and out of court a couple of times. It's a rough time for me but I am happy to still try and focus on my wedding and we'll see what the rest of my life holds.

 

Inspite of that, I really missed you ladies and am looking forward to your happy stories and stress jokes to get me through this trying time.

Wow that really sux. But thats good that  you are being positive and focusing on your big day. We definitely have missed you on the forum- you are usually on here every day like I am so I was worried about you. Other than that it sounds like you are doing pretty good. I can't believe you only have 21 days. That is ridiculous. I am so excited for you. BTW- the little sand ceremony book you made is super cute!

 

 

Well I gained another 3 pounds so I am going to fit in my dress!!- a week with the in-laws is a sure recipe for weight gain!

 

Printed out all my checklists and forms today for packing, photography,and emergency contact stuff. My planning binder is getting really thick.

The check list you have, Are they generic or did you create them to suit you? I've been looking for some generic check list that cater to DW's but I can't really find any. I keep feeling like I am missing something.

Glad you were able to mange your weight situation to get the results you wanted. I am so happy for you. I know that was a big deal for you to achieve and I wanted you to be happy with the way you look in your dress. Everyone deserves that! Congrats!

Wow Tameka how crazy your life must be right now.  I can only imagine the stress you and your FI are under presently.  Good luck getting everything organized and enjoy your wonderful wedding day with friends and family and try not to think about home life once you get there.

 

I made my own to-do list and love crossing things off it.  THis weekend was very productive.  We have everything for the OOT bags and linens are ordered for the AHR (which is a week after we return).  Now down to the little details, which is good because I must finish everything this week, next week I have to go to a Geriatrics Conference and will not be able to think about the wedding.

Bride Loving CJ - Wow, that really sucks you two have to deal with this right before the wedding. At least it seems like you are staying positive. I hope everything works out.

 

 

knacarato - That's great you are getting your weight to where you want it to be. How much weight do you want to gain?
