I didn't know you could do the 3 hour reception without the dinner? I kind of like that idea because that allows more time for just mingling and dancing. What time is your wedding and are you having dinner before or after the reception at all? I'm just trying to figure out how that would all flow.....

Our ceremony is at 4pm, so I'm wondering if we could have the ceremony, take some pictures, have dinner at one of the restaurants maybe around 5:30 or 6, and then after dinner have the reception start. But if the guests have just eaten dinner, I don't even know if they'd want the appetizers at that point?

We brought our i-pod & docking station for music. The WC hit stop & play for us during the ceremony and then for our 1st dance during the cocktail reception. Our dinner part of the reception was in the garden and just hit play and let the play list roll through. It was definitely loud enough for everyone to hear.

This may vary be resort but I was told that Sandals only provides a stereo for the ceremony. It's the WC's stereo and pretty much doesn't want it to get lost/broken, so you are kinda on your own for anything after the ceremony. That's why we decided to just put everything on the i-pod, was just easier.

Anybody out there use the DJ for 3 hours? And if so, did you select your music to play? I was thinking to bring our music for the ceremony, first dance, etc (the important songs) and leave the rest open for the DJ?? Have any of you done this?
