Hello Ladies

I am in a huge predicament! O.k I have a phtographer and they are only coming day of wedding. If I want them to come the next day for TTD then I will likely have to pay a large fee. I can do the TTD session the day of the wedding BUT how in the world will I do this?? I can do the TTD after the ceremony and the pictures of us and family and before the reception which is fine with me BUT I will be wet incl my hair, dress and make up plus my FI will be wet!! I don't mind at all getting my dress wet or ruined BUT I want pictures of me in my dress during the reception, cutting cake, first dance etc other wise I would just change into a new dress for the reception. I was thinking if I only get waist down wet? BUT then my dress will be wet for the reception. Then I was thinking what if I get a cheap dress for the TTD and slip it on just before the TTD and then put wedding dress on after TTD and before reception LOL. That sounds great BUT I feel like I will be rushed for pictures and getting changed in and out of both dresses! We will not have a large wedding party at all so there will not be a lot of time needed to get people together etc. Any ideas ladies. I could go with another photographer that will do TTD the next day but in total the difference would be 600-800US for another 2hr TTD shoot!!! That is nuts really. I am so confused and running out of time. Thanks for reading and look forward to hearing what you have to say.

Hi Heather....just read your sad predicament..is there any way you can do the TTD really early before everything and then get ready with your ceremony dress after?? Don't know if you have the time...but you would probably want to shower and stuff after the TTD anyways so you might as well get all dolled up again for your wedding...just a suggestion..sorry hun!

Hmmm. what time is your reception? I really only have two suggestions, do a sunrise or a sunset shoot the day of your wedding. If your reception is early enough you can use your actual wedding dress and just change into something for the remaining reception photos. Or of course you can get a cheep second dress and do it the morning of your wedding.

I think if you try to do your TTD the same day as the actual wedding you will be very stressed out. I just can't imagine doing it the same day or only getting wet from the waist down. Then you won't have the pictures that you really want and you'll be disappointed when you get them back. See if you can negotiate with your photographer on the price of coming back the next day for the TTD session.

Eeek... I agree, that is MAJOR stress on your wedding day... but I guess the best option would be super early and FAST, so you can start getting ready for the real thing.

Definitely don't do it in between ceremony and reception.

You will be even more stressed and probably won't look as good at the reception - ie. sand on your body/hair, make up not fresh and same for your FI (well not the makeup I'm sure cheesy.gif).

Hey ladies thank you all for your input. This site is so helpful and comforting actually. We were planning on a 5:00pm ceremony but the sun sets at 5:45pm sooo that won't give us time to even take pics after cermony of us and family etc let alone TTD LOL as we want light in our pics . I think we will def do TTD early but not too early as we only have photographer for 6 hrs AHHH. This way I only have to get ready once. I don't really care how my hair looks for TTD as I want it messy anyways and it will be getting wet. I will def get another dress for TTD and wear my wed dress all day/night! Umm we were thinking a 4pm wed and take 1.5hrs for all to get ready sooo that leaves us maybe to do the TTD at 1-2pm for TTD! I def need to talk to photographer about getting him to stay longer or something but it looks like we will do something eariler for TTD. It is tradition for the bride and groom not to see each other before wedding!!!! Bad luck or what? Are most of you having your photographer all night at reception? This is confusing planning a wed away for some reason. I guess cause it's not the norm.
