Mariachi Band - Riveria Maya

Originaly, Mariachi are from Mexico City and the Guadalajara region - there you can hire them for nothing. Locals use them all the time for Birthday and any celebrations.

 

Now the one that are in Cancun/ Riviera Maya are dedicated to tourism and got used to hotels and are VERY expensive. If you contract them from outside, $700.00 is normal for a 8-10 piece Mariachi.

 

The trick from the resortsl is that they hire a Mariachi band on a daily base: what they do is use the one they contract for their Mexican restaurant, and ask them to swing by to your receptions....this is why resorts can come up with great rates.

I paid $350USD for a 4 piece band but it came with 7. They played over the 45 minutes required and followed us down 5th and kept playing. Amazing!

Does anyone have the names of any of these Mariachi bands?  I'm looking for a 3 piece band, $100 per person for an hour.

I am looking for a mariachi band as well for my dinner hour. Did anyone get the contact information for the all female band? I am really interested.

 

Otherwise, I'm interested in getting information on a mariachi band of 7-10 members that could perform near Akumal?
