Thks Amarillis.

This resort looks absolutely beautiful! Were you satisfied with the service, food, etc? I am down to choosing this one and the Melia Varadero, but am trying to weigh the differences to make up my mind.

Any real complaints about this resort?

And for some reason I am having difficulty opening those 2 links for the wedding package that you posted, I am not sure why. The forum will not let me access them.

Also do you have the contact information of the wedding coordinator and if I e-mail her will she be quick to respond!!?

Thanks so much,

Jules

Yep I have the contact information for the coordinator - her name is Sandra Linares Davalos. As for speedy replies, allow a minimum of a week for a response. There are 6 ladies that work in guest relations there at the Marina Palace. They may answer you on her behalf. PM me your email address and I'll send you Sandra's email and contact info.

As for contacting the WC, I would suggest firming up the location etc and pricing with your TA.

As for the posted packages, you probably don't have enough points. A few more posts and you should be able to access them.

I don't have any serious complaints about the resort, we chose the Barcelo Marina Palace because we had so many children attending.

I suggest you read my review - (you'll see the link in my siggy) - this may answer a ton of questions that you have about the resort without going through the WC.

I am only too happy to help.!!!!

Hi JulesnPhil,

Have you made any decisions yet? I was reading your thread, and it looks like you've got lots of help from everyone! I am getting married at the Marina Palace in February/March, and am deep into planning mode :o) Amarillis posted some great photos, and she's helped me out with questions too. If you want the most recent 2009 packages (and there are 3), just PM me with your contact info and I will send them to you.

Happy planning!

Jenna

I like that if you have 17 guests at the Melia Veradero, the wedding package is free. That's a pretty good deal. I know we will be having at least that, possibly more. Does this resort allow children because there will be at least 3 little ones coming along. I am also having a really hard time deciding on what resort to have our wedding at. We are thinking of Feb. 2011 (I know I am starting the planning process very early!) and I would be open to suggestions. Cost is a factor, we are on a budget. But I would like the best, most beautiful place our meager funds will allow!!

I have stayed at the Melia Varadero 3 times in the past year and I think you will be quite pleased with it. They do allow children. When I was there in September (low season) the rooms that were not is use were being re-furbished and all of the furniture replaced. Speaking to some of the staff at the resort I have heard that the are doing some renovations around the resort as well during the low season to upgrade. I might have in my computer somewhere in my computer pictures of the wedding gazebo that I could send to you. Hope this helps. (I might end up getting married there myself).
