I would LOVE to go in the AM but I can barely get up at 6:45 for work.. to go to the gym I'd have to get up at 5.
I can't go at lunch from work because I work in the middle of nowhere (45 min from my gym/home)

So please tell me how you ladies do it? I don't want to even go every day -- 3-4x a week and I'd be happy.. there always seems to be something stopping me.....

thx
I wish I had advice, but I struggle with the same problem. I am just always so busy with work and running Hailey around to her activities, that it really limits the time I have to get to the gym, unless I want to go at 8pm at night!

What about bringing your gym clothes to work with you and going straight there after work. I used to do that and I did really well with it because once you go home you get sucked into something else.

Or do you have a friend that goes to the same gym or might join, so that you could coordinate to go together a few times a week.

Two of my good friends just joined the same gym as me, but we have such different schedules that we're never there at the same time, but I'm hoping some day our schedules will work out!

Congrats on the loss!

I actually honestly stopped going to the gym. I was having the same problem that you were. I work from 7am to 5pm so there's no way I'm getting up early to head to the gym before work and working until 5, then going to the gym, getting home, making dinner then eating was getting way too hard. We wouldn't eat until 8pm, then clean up and basically go back to bed. I just couldn't do it anymore. Right now, I'm too busy to even think about the gym thing but once things get settled a little bit more, I'll probably at least do some walking around the neighborhood.

finzup - I go 5x/week after work, usually around 6 p.m. or so. I'm not going to lie, most days it is super hard for me to be motivated to go or get in to my gym clothes. I know exactly how you feel. Last spring I was going at 5:30 a.m. before I got ready for work so that I wouldn't have to do it when I got home in the evening but for me, I just find it easier/more convenient to go after work even though I hate it. Can you work out in your home? There are a ton of great exercises that don't require equipment as long as you have enough space.

Hey ladies! I'm on board! We pushed things up so today is my first low carb day. I have to say, I'm feeling pretty full at this time (and it's snack time in a couple minutes!).

Here's my lay-out for the day:

Breakfast - Egg with feta and spinach

AM snack - greek yogurt and a handful of mixed nuts/seeds

Lunch - soup: chicken broth with chicken, baby bok choy, a little red onion, and garlic (We went out to lunch for a friends birthday, but I think I did pretty well!)

PM snack - celery with peanut butter

Dinner - NY strip steak with a sprinkling of bleu cheese, a side of kale, and maybe some cauliflower.

I still have to buy the protein powder on my way home from work. I hope I get a good one!

Congrats on all the weight loss ladies! Oh, and for the BL contest, the reason I'm not joining is that my busy season is starting at work and I know I will forget to send in the weights. I like the support on this thread though!

Kristy - That sounds pretty good for your first day at it, keep up the good work! :) Also, if you're buying a protein powder to mix with water (as I do) then I highly recommend All Max Isoflex protein powder in Peanutbutter Chocolate flavor. It is surprisingly delicious (for a protein powder anyway lol).

Thanks Kathy! I ended up with the Optimum Nutrition Milk Chocolate. I'm mixing it with fat free milk and it was pretty good. I think you had originally recommended that brand, so thank you.

I am a carb-addict, so I have to say that it was pretty strange not having rice or potatoes with my steak last night. I was pretty hungry after dinner and was actually looking forward to the protein shake (I know, weird). I'm definitely looking forward to moving on from Low Carb week, even though I'm only on the second day of it! I find figuring out lunch to be difficult.

How is everyone doing today?

I usually do salads for lunch on low carbs days. It's the easiest to do. I use tons of veggies, throw on some chicken/turkey/ham and add an oil dressing for my fat. It really fills you up actually!
That's pretty much all I've come up with. I may try making soup, just for variety. I get bored with salad when I can't add fruit!

You're welcome Kristy! Optimum Nutrition is a good brand too, for sure! :)

I usually will have a chicken breast or tuna (with miracle whip & green onions) for lunch on low carb day. Pretty boring but cheap and simple.
