Have you talked to him about your feelings. Maybe there is more to him wanting to push it back until 2011. I can totally understand you wanting to do it in 2010 and not wanting to wait but you need to talk to him and then both come to an agreement that will work for both of you.

Agreed, you should talk to FI to see if there may be other reasons why he wants to push it back. Perhaps a good compromise would be an early legal day/civil ceremony in your hometown?
