What to wear at AHR???

too right im wearing my dress again hehe.our families are not attending the dw so they will not see us in our wedding attire so that is the main reason.we are doing a mexican themed party too.

Hi all! We were married Aug 1 in Mexico and are having our AHR on August 28th. We are having a formal reception, so I'm definitely wearing my dress! All my recently married friends have shared that they are a bit jealous that I'm getting two wears out of mine! My husband wore a linen suit at the wedding so he's actually thinking about going more formal at the reception. We are hoping to take our wedding pictures and combine them with our reception pictures to make a complete album since many of our family members weren't able to make the wedding.

....the only thing I'm stuck on is do I wear my hair a simliar way or a different way? It was all up for the wedding and I'm not sure if I should go all up again or have it done? Any thoughts?

I am definitely wearing my dress. My AHR location is pretty casual. I decided that I don't care what other people wear, but I'm the bride and I'm wearing my dress! The wedding party and my fiance will all wear their outfits too.

 

EUREAKA: good question about the hair. I don't think its a big deal if you wear it the same way. I'm thinking mine will be up for both events, but with two different people doing it its bound to look different a little!

I will also be wearing my wedding dress because we have to do the first dance and the garter and bouquet will be thrown, its going to be a formal dinner reception, open bar, 150 guest.

I'm wearing my dress and my husband is wearing his suit but only for the first 2 hours. While we are having alot of the traditional things a wedding reception would have, i.e cake, dj, buffet, open bar, garter & bouquet toss, I don't want people to think this is a typical reception because we are going for a party feel. We will both be changing into party clothes for the last two hours.

I'm definitely wearing my wedding dress to our AHR, but I am toying with the idea of changing once the dancing portion of the evening starts. My dress has a trumpet skirt with a small train (and the dress is pleated all the way down) so it can't be pleated so I worry that people might step on my pretty dress during all the dancing!

 

Plus, it's an excuse to shop for a short, cute ivory dress for the reception!

I'm wearing mine for the AHR. I'm worried b/c I cannot find a second dress for the TTD session @ a decent price. I honestly cannot afford anything over $100.00 for an EXTRA dress just for pictures. I want it to be long like my wedding dress. Any ideas?

Ive been thinking about this issue as well. My tentative AHR will not be for a few months after the DW (I live in MN and my guests from warmer countries will not be too thrilled to be invited to a wedding before the month of March !!)

I think that it would probably be inappropriate to wear the dress 4 months after the actual wedding??What do you think?

I will also be having another AHR in Africa in the summer, I think that would really be too late to wear white. What do you think??

I think whenever you decide to have it, its never inappropriate to wear your dress at the reception. I think people will love to see you in it at your reception. Don't let the time frame be the reason you don't wear the dress again!
