Feedback on Riu All Inclusive Resorts

I'm getting married at the Riu Palace Tropical Bay and I understand what you mean about getting scared after reading some negative reviews on tripadvisor! Those almost scared me off. But then I did more research into other resorts and well they all have negative reviews posted! So, now I basically just take every negative review with a grain of salt. And all of the reviews on here about the Riu resorts are amazing, so I'm sure if you decide to go with a Riu wedding, you'll be more than satisfied in the end!

You can only book for that night. What made us so mad was some people gave the front desk money on the hush and were able to book for the week. So all the restaurants we wanted to go to were already booked and we kept getting stuck with the left over restaurants sad.gif

No other resorts I have been to that are all-inclusives do this. So I am not really sure why the RIU does. For families who are up that early anyways it was not a big deal. For us it was like having to get up to go to work on vacation lol

Me and FI stayed at RIU Cabo San Lucas last year and loved it, so we decided to have our wedding at RIU Negril. From my understanding you can't go wrong with any RIU. The reviews on here have been great. As far as making reservations in the morning, yes this is true. But you can always go back to sleep afterewards.

I have never been, but trip advisor, and some wedding reviews on here sold me on the Riu Palace RM. There is a great thread on this site with past and future brides from this resort. I think I'm the only one getting married on the beach! Everyone else is doing the Gazebo-- the FI has his heart set on the beach. Anyway-- everyone seems to love it. I think it's more pricey than the others in Playa, but I was sold on the reviews and photos! Gooooood Luuuuuck!

I just booked my 12/4/2010 wedding on Tuesday and I followed up with questions and requests for more info and I just got an email from the coordinator (Sunday)!!!!!!

I will be getting married at Riu Ocho Rios. I've read many posts here saying it's a great place. I also ready lots of negative reviews on tripadvisor so it's making me nervous but like another poster said, you must take it with a grain of salt. Lots of people like to complain even if it's for something very small.
