$29.00 per person per area at Dreams??

Recommended Posts

I just received an e-mail from my wedding planner. Is it true that you pay for your package at dreams (I have paid for the Ultimate package) and then on top of that you have to pay $29.00/per person for ceremony/cocktail and $29.00 per person for reception? With 40 people possibly coming to my wedding the cost of my ultimate package at Dreams doubles in price!!

Hi there,

I received the same quote...29/pp for cocktail hour and 29/pp for the reception. We went with the $700 basic package and just added on from there. I was told it would be the cheapest way to do it. We will be having the reception in a private sectioned off area at Oceana Terrace. I was told this was the only way to have the reception be semi-private.

Based on everything I have seen and heard, you pay the set amount for the package. I think it is $2650 for the Dreams Ultimate package. That will serve cocktail hour, dinner, drinks, and cake for up to 20 people. Everyone above and beyond the 20 people you will have to pay for. I had a quote for around 40 people with the Dreams Ultimate and it was right around 5500 bucks. I dont think the prices vary from resort to resort...they all reflect the same price on the Dreams website.

Yes, that is right. I was married at Dreams Cancun last month & the Ultimate package is for 20 people (including you & your FI)..You get the ceremony, cocktail hour & reception & etc...

Anyone over 20 people is extra per person. However, It's def more then $29pp. I think it;s more like $50pp for both the cocktail & reception.

So let me get this right. If you have 40 people, you pay an extra $29.00 per person above 20 for each location and then for the reception you also pay the extra $70.00 per person for the dinner?

20 people x $29.00/pp = 580 for the ceremony/cocktail hour

20 people x $29.00/pp = 580 for the reception

20 people x $70.00/pp = 1400 for the gold dinner at reception

Is that correct? I will have to verify with my wedding planner that it is just for the number of people over 20

Nope!

You have 40 total people coming to the wedding.

20 pp covered by the ultimate package.

20 extra over the initial 20 covered people x $29 /pp set up fee for the ceremony/cocktail hour =$580

20 people extra over the intial 20 covered people x $29/pp set up fee for the reception site = $580

Total of $58 pp extra. The reason the ultimate package is $70 instead of $58pp extra is that lobster is served for dinner. If you decide to not serve lobster the fee is only $58 extra per person over the inital 20 covered in the package. If you do serve lobster the fee is $70 pp over the initial 20 covered in the package.
