Engaged...on My Front Lawn!!??

So here's our story!!

 

My then boyfriend...(now fiance!) had already been discussing our wedding, and the fact we wanted to do a DW! We even started ring shopping, so when the time was right he knew what I wanted! lol

 

Well we looked around, and the first store, first ring was the one I liked, however my then boyfriend..did not like the price tag, I agreed, and said we would look around, and hold off on things until we got some things done around our home that we purchased last summer.

 

A week later we went to the Winnipeg Blue Bomber game (CFL, we are from Wpg, Canada) After the game, (Bombers one!! Woot!) we drove home, as we came around the corner of our street, I saw these lights that were on someones lawn and thought...how tacky...who has lights on their lawn in July? Then we got closer to our house and I said, what the heck?! the lights are on our lawn!? My boyfriend had both my and his parents in cahoots on his plan, they were over at our house while we were at the Bomber game getting our lawn set up. He had little white picket fences wraped in white lights creating a path that lead to a big arch that had white lights, he had cut out (by himself) a bunch of red hearts and placed them on sticks scattered across our lawn, the lit pathway led to the lit arch that had a big banner across that said "Jennifer Will You Marry Me?"

 

As we got close enough to our home, I could start to read the sign, and I lost it!! I jumped out of the car, running across our lawn, cheering, and repeating "is this for real? Are you joking!?"

 

He pulled me under the arch, took off his Blue Bomber jersey to proudly display his tuxedo t-shirt that he had made, he handed me 2 dozen pink and white roses, got down on his knee, and with a tear in his eye, he proposed! I was in utter shock!! Yes, we had discussed getting married, yes we had even gone ring shopping! But I was under the impression we were going to hold off on things until we did some things around the home!!

 

What a surprise!!! He bought the exact ring I wanted like two days after we went and looked at it! He let me go on and on about looking at other stores, emailng jewellers, and even calling different jewellers! Just so I wouldn't suspect him. the hole week he was scheming this plan without me knowing a thing!!! Which is pretty good, because normally he is terrible at trying to hide things from me!!

 

I am so happy it is now official, and we can spend the rest of our lives together!!! I really feel like the luckiest girl out there...besides the rest of you ladies!! lol!!
