my face is always shining! (shiny face)

I found a few references to "shiny face" in some threads, but nothing specifically for that. My face is shiny ALL the time. It's not even that it's that oily looking, but it's just shiny. Even if I just wash it there is a gleam to it. I absolutely hate about 95% of all pictures I am in b/c my face is always shiny. My friends think I am crazy cuz I stress about it all the time. Everytime I use the bathroom when I am out, I use toilet paper to dab the shine away and I put powder on. But within a few minutes, the powder is gone and I am shiny again! I usually buy cheap CVS powder, so am wondering if there is some miracle powder or something I can buy. Any suggestions?

I too have very oily skin and I found a product that has been working wonders this summer when my shine is at it's worse! It's a matte lotion with sunscreen and you can either get it with or without tint. It's called Medi-Matte Oil Control Lotion by Cosmedicine and you can get it a sephora. Oily Blotting Papers also work to give yourself a little extra matte throughout the day.

MAC blot powder is my friend. I use a tinited moisturiser and then dust that over my face. Makes it nice and light feeling while still being matte. It obsorbs oil so it lasts. Sometimes I will re-apply though if I'm going out at night.

My new favourite product is Clinique Redness Solutions Instant Relief Mineral Powder

 

It removes redness and keeps a matte finish all day long!

I use the Mac blot powder also, but my face isn't overall shiny - just my chin and nose really. It works perfectly fine for those areas! It lasts me for a long time too.

I too use the MAC Blot Powder - it's great for keeping make up put through the day too

What about if I don't really wear makeup? I have never worn foundation or anything so really don't like having things on my face. It makes me feel dirty. I was really hoping for some miracle cure. Darn.

 

I am totally buying lemons when I go shopping tonight and then I will decide between the mac blotter and the medi-something mentioned earlier. I am only allowing myself to buy ONE thing for now cuz I have so many that I don't like...

Like you I don't wear make up but have a shiny forehead. I use Face Secrets Professional Red Makeup Sponges from Sally's and they take the shine away for a while!

I use the clean and clear oil blotter papers in my purse at all times and as one who doesn't wear much make up I use the bare essentials mineral veil. It rocks!
