Oh, good idea with the iron on transfer canvas bags! I'm out of time so I'm scrambling for something affordable to use for my OOT bags (I need about 14). Hobby Lobby sounds like such a gem that I'm sure all Canadian brides like myself are jealous you have.

You must be getting anxious for Sat! Even I'M terribly excited for you, I can't wait to see reviews on the beautiful Key West.  Pictures by the water would be stunning!

I'm planning to teach K-7 but I'm not sure what I prefer yet.  The little ones are so cute and clever, but grades 4-7 I've found to be less work (though the grade 7ers are getting into that teen angst era).  Originally I planned to be a high school chemistry teacher since I did an undergrad degree in Biochemistry, but after trying it out I just felt a bit uncomfortable.  It might be that I still *look* like a high school student, and probably will until I'm into my 30's.  Oh well, it's a blessing!

For my guests I made Gift bages (OOT bags basically). I found cheap canvas bags online and used printable iron-on transfer paper to create a cute design for the bags. I filled them with snacks (I got tons of individually wrapped stuff at Sam's), mini aloe lotions (Walgreens), kleenex, chapstick, and handheld battery operated fans. I also created a welcome book. This is what took the most time. I stole the idea from another forum on here. I used mini scrapbooks from Hobby Lobby. I printed off a welcome letter, itinirary, contact list, maps of Key West, photoshare info, and info about places to eat, shop and play around Key West. I just glued the paper into the books and was done. It turned out really cute.

About a month ago I sent out welcome packets to everyone as well. This just included a letter from my FI and I along with Key West info and a tentative inirary. With that I also sent luggage tags that I made. I had pictures from my planning visit to key west that I printed off in wallet sizes. I glues the picture to brown cardstock paper and on the other side put the name of the guest. Then I laminated them and punched a hole at the top for the luggage tag cord. Everyone seems to really like them. I was impressed with how thye turned out.

Good luck with the teaching job! What age level? I teach elementary so the creative thing comes in really handy.

I'm a high school special ed teacher (learning disabilities) and still look like I'm a high school student, so I know how you feel.  My brother was a student at the HS I started teaching at, so it helped that I knew a lot of the kids already.  A new life together & a new career...how exciting!  Good luck!

all packed and ready to go! Today is pedicure and manicure and some last minute shopping. Then tomorrow morning (really early!!) it's off to Key West. Unfortunately some of our guests that were flying down early had their flights cancelled (both DELTA...boo) so they had to stay in St. Louis and Dallas overnight. But I think they are all on schedule to get there today...yea! Can't wait to come back and share all the fun details with everyone.
