thanks alot! i meant feb 2011 by the way. so i guess as long as i get the okay here at home from my priest, mexico won't have a problem with it? also i emailed the church yesterday, one email i sent in english, the other one in spanish(written by a spanish speaking friend) but they responded right away to the spanish one! i hope my priest is okay with me going to mexico to get married, and the fact that we already live together.....i really hope it's not a problem......

If I were you I would cross all my t's and dot all my i's because when I first started planning I got one direction from the wedding planner that was completely different from what my priest said which was different from what the parish in cancn said. You should reach out to the parish directly. I dealt with Lupita Ramos. I'm getting married this April and here's what I had to do:

I had to get the letter from my home priest giving us permission to marry in Mexico. I also live with my FI but I never mentioned it and he never asked.

My FI had to get a seperate letter from his priest because my priest would not include him in my letter since he is not part of that parish.

I had to email the CANCUN PARISH (Lupita Ramos) a scanned copy of the priest's letter giving permission (Carta de traslado) along with copies of EACH of our baptism , communion and confirmation certificates. I originally only sent the letter from the priest but she insisted that I also email copies of the baptism, communion and confirmation. She also said that I must bring the original letter from the priest with the official church seal when I travel to Cancun for the wedding. They must have the original a few days before.

They told me that they don't need proof that you attended pre-cana. Your home preist may require that you take pre-cana before he gives you the letter but as long as you have the letter, the mexican church is ok. What I would be careful of if I was you is the sacrament certificates because I originally was told I din't need to send them and then they requested it.

I'll update everyone with exactly what they end up asking for when I get married in April.
