Need help with first dance song?!?

Hi everyone!

 

Its time for us to decide our first dance song This has actually been one of the hardest decisions for us in the planning process so I'm turning to you for some help. I've been addicted to iTunes recently!!

 

We have narrowed it down to 3 options....

 

1. Stand By Me by Ben E. King - no big reason for this one aside from both liking it.

 

2. You are my Sunshine by Johnny Cash - We both love Johnny Cash and this is one of his happier songs, yet still slow enough for us to dance.

 

3. Hands Down performed by the Vitamin Piano Series - The original song by Dashboard Confessionals is "our" song and has been since we started dating. Although the original is a little fast for our less than coordinated dancing skills =)

 

Any opinions are greatly appreciated!

My reasoning is exactly the same as Lisa's..... It is your song... regardless of the artist performing, it is your song.

 

Our song was 'Come Fly with Me - Michael Bublé' -- We liked it more than the original version by Frank Sinatra, but everytime I hear any version of the song... I consider it 'our song'

So its looking like Hands Down... since you ladies confirmed for me what we were already suspecting. I was hesitant to pick the piano version since its instrumental but as you have pointed out...its still our song.

 

Its funny how some of the simpliest decisions seem to be the most overwhelming!

sounds like you have made your decision, but I would agree with everyone, go with "your" song. Every time you hear it in future you will remember that moment together on the dance floor. The first dance is what I am looking forward to most.

I agree with the other ladies, it has to be #3! Glad your choosing it. If you think it's a bit too fast, then why don't you guys get a professional dance instructor to help you.

My FI and I are having trouble choosing a song too, so if you have one that is "your" song then definitely go with that one! For some reason we don't really have a song, so it is quite hard to pick something we are both happy with... so far! (We have lots of time to decide still.)
