Recommended Posts

Good morning Barefoot! I didnt even see that you were in Wilmington. Im a UNCW grad and get down there as often as possible! Great place!!

Yesterday we booked Sandals!!!! I am so excited and hoping for the best. I have been talking a lot (or my mom and fiancee) have been talking with TA Jennifer about different places.. she is a great resource if you need help deciding between several places. Do you guys have a time frame for going yet?

Hi , I see that your post is afew months old but I got married in Antigua in April 08. We got married at the St. James's Club on the beach with 18 guests joining us from across Canada.

I researched Antigua for over a year before booking so if you have any questions fire away and maybe I can answer them for you !

There are a few great sites out there on Antigua, checkout antiguanice.com and antiguaforums.com for lots of great info...

We loved the two weeks that we spent on the island and are saving up to visit again ( We honeymooned at Galley Bay...heaven !)

Hello Ladies,

I am also going to be an Antigua bride in July or August 2010! I am considering Coco Bay Resort or Verandah Resort and Spa- has anyone heard anything about these two locations? How are your wedding plans going along? Are you having any luck with your on-site wedding coordinators? Do they seem to be working slow, or is just my experience? I am really trying to make solid decisions and cannot move forward because one of the coordinators won't email me with responses sad.gif

Hi, the Verandah Resort is one of the sister resorts of the St. James's Club which is owned by Elite Island Resorts. You have to book your wedding date and ceremony time directly with them. You will receive a confirmation number and the wedding coordinator info( email ) from them and then you are on your way. There is not alot that you can book before you get there...I prebooked for our wedding dinner in the restaurant that has a surcharge and I booked a group dinner for our first night there( ended up being 2 tables of 10 close to eachother in one of the restaurants that was open that evening.)

We met with our wedding coordinator to chose our flowers, cake and ceremony site the morning after we arrived and had it all organized within 2 hours.Believe me this was hard going not knowing anything as I am a "planner".It was so simple, there is nothing to stress about. They are a little slow getting back to you by email but I always heard back within 24-72 hours...they do everything on island time !

The VR & Spa is a family resort with all the rooms located in bungalow style accomodations. If the food is anything like at the SJC you will not go hungry ! The food is great quality for an AI resort.Long Bay and Devil's bridge is in walking distance of this resort but other than that you are quite isolated in terms of ammeneties close by.

Coco Bay is very rustic and the cabins are located on a hill so if anyone has mobility issues this might be a problem. I believe it is adults only but not positive. I don't think you have as many dining options there as at the VR & Spa.

Whatever location that you chose will be great, you just have to figure out what is important to you for your big day. If I can answer any other questions let me know, we loved Antigua and would get married there again in a heartbeat !
