Marriott Wailea Resort & Spa/ Thoughts??

I'm definitely looking forward to a Maui Wedding but I was wondering what people thought about the Marriott Resort. Anyone have any opinion on that resort? Does the beach get crowded there?

 

Also I have read a lot on A Paradise Dream Wedding with Gordon Nash and I really think their photos are beautiful. I'm a little hesitant to "Order" online, there are so many decisions to make in terms of packages. How many hours are enough photography time and do you have to pick everything right away to get started with them? Thanks in advance for your help!

I've stayed at the Marriott and it was really nice...I think it would be a good spot for wedding

I used APDW and had Ian as my photographer. He did an amazing job and took pictures for about an hour. I had more than 200 pictures. You get them all on CD and can develop any or all of them if you wish.

I am going to be using APDW. You don't have to "order" online. I just emailed them then started talking with Joanne (who is super helpful.) Even when I put down a deposit to reserve the date I didn't have to make final decisions. I chose the photographer but I can change it later if I choose (as long as they are still available.) I'm not sure which photo package we are choosing yet so I can't help with how many hours would be enough but I have heard great things about the company and have had a great experience so far. I just was there and the beach is super full (all the resorts in the area use the same beach.) However there is this area looking over the water that is so beatiful. There is also a very small beach just down the way that you go through a little gate and it is public but very very private if you have a small party. Let me know if you want more information. But the Marriott was amazing and a great price.

Thanks so much for your replies. crazyldy, I think I might have to go with a wedding on the resort grounds instead of a beach wedding. So far I'm guessing around 40-50 guests are going to be attending. My finace is the youngest out of 7 so half of that if not more are family... haha

 

Brenna, absolutely so jealous that you've set a date for your wedding! Thanks for your info on the APDW, I'll send them an email once I get a resort booked.
