Dorney Park vs Great Adventure

We were thinking of taking a day off to go to Dorney Park or Gr8 Adventure. smile29.gif I'm not really a roller coaster belly flipping ride person, my stomach gets upset anymore sick.gif, but I like water rides. I'm not sure if there is much of a difference in the rides, the atmosphere, food, etc. What do you girls think? smile78.gif

I love GA, and we have season passes, but I'm totally an upside down super fast coaster kind of girl.

The main park only has a couple of water rides. I've never been to the water park but it doesn't look like anything exciting IMO. I've never been to Dorney either, but Brian loves water parks and prefers that one over the GA water park. I don't know abot the pricing at Dorney, but at GA it's a separate fee for the main park and the water park so that may be something to keep in mind. The food at Ga is typical amusement park food... just ok and definitely overpriced. The atmosphere... it's become slightly more annoying to me lately. But maybe I'm just getting old . So many teenagers running around, line cutters, obnoxiuos people walking backwards and bumping into you, etc.

So if you are mainly looking for water stuff, I think Dorney might have an edge over GA.

I used to go to Dorney all the time when i was little, it cost less than GA, the water park is included in the price. Idk about GA water rides but dorney has a lot of them. but GA has better roller coasters. I like to go to dorney on labor day, if the weather is nice, no one is there. we would just walk right up to a ride and get right on.

My vote is for Dorney Park and Wild Water Kingdom. My FI and I go there all the time. I love both water rides and roller coasters but my FI cant really handle the roller coasters so this is a perfect medium for us. Plus it is cheaper than Great Adventure and most hotels around the area can provide you with tix at a discount.

I'm not really an amusement park person, but FI LOVES amusement parks. Being that he has been to both Parks. I know for a fact the he would say Great Adventures is the BEST. He gets us Season passes every year for Great Adventures. We recently went to Chicago for their annual Taste of Chicago Event and We had to stop at Great adventures.

Hello I actually prefer Dorney Park because it has two parks for the price of 1 which really helps if it extremely hot out on that day you can go to the amusement side, they have great rides!! exciting thrilling and your basic fun rides, they're not the huge rides at GA but they get the job done :) and then you have the water side which is just as fun and refreshing

I was just reading older posts - I must have missed this - I live 10 minutes from Great Adventure and worked there all through my teens - I don't go there since HATE rides but with all the BDW-ers that go there , we could have a mini BDW get together there....or at the bar down the street!
