Canadians may need a visa to go to Mexico?

Not sure. I don't think they've announced any plans. They are just "monitoring the situation".

Hopefully nothing turns on this. It is a very big deal though that Canada has implemented this. Especially with the Czech Republic. There is going to be some serious backlash.

I also copied this from the Canadian Government website...

Tourist Visa Requirements

Many countries (see list below) require Canadians to obtain a tourist visa before leaving Canada for visits of less than three months. Some countries (identified by an asterisk *) will issue Canadians a tourist visa, tourist card or entry stamp upon arrival.

Mexico, Cuba, and Dominican are all included on the list...and they do issue the tourist card upon arrival...so hopefully this doesn't change in the future to something more complicated.

Ya those countries you just get the card on the plane, fill it out and immigration takes half and you give them the other half when you leave. That is easy.

Anything involving visiting a consulate ahead of time is a major hassle. Some countries I believe you can apply for the tourist visa without going in person and they send it to you. I think Brazil might have that. You have to pay like $200 for it though.
