I got married in Jamaica, so my wedding certificate is in English. Almost every time I went to change my name, places were quick to say "we wont except it if it isn't in English". I also wasn't able to change anything with the temporary certificate. MTO, social insurance, bank and credit cards, my professional registration and union... etc, etc. I couldn't get my name changed on my ID card at work without the real deal. Just a heads up!

I was previously married and my passport is in my ex's name still. So to get married at Dreams PA I was told to one change my passport back to match my birth certificate and two to bring my divorce certificate along with our birth certificates to the resort and they will be tranlsated there for 10US a page. My gf got married last year in Mexico on the other side Puerto Vallarta and she was not told any of this so they had to drive a couple hours to go get it down. I really think it depends on what resort your at. I am going to fax my WP my birth cert and divorce certificate down ahead of time and make sure that we dont need anything else. I have tried to talk FI into doing it here but he thinks that people would get mad about spending money to come to our FAKE wedding haha. I get that I guess. Just wanted to jump in since I went to Social Security this morning to "attempt" to change my name with my Spanish marriage certificate. After much worry, it was painless! No translating necessary....at least for social security. Maybe DMV will be another story.
