Need an amazing beach location...

Hey All!

 

I've been glancing at this forum for a while now, hoping that someday soon I would be able to post and plan with everyone. Well I finally can! Yahoo I'm officially engaged and trying to get a location figured out. We are looking at Feb 18, 2011 for a date. Most of the family is in WI, friends are all scattered around country, and I live in Washington DC. I want to get married ON a beach, that is my only non negotiable item. The rest I'm pretty laid back on...ha ha at least so far.

 

There are three possibilities so far...

Cozumel- love the area and scuba diving. many options for the guests in surrounding areas but a little concerned about beaches, maybe too rocky?

 

Mazatlan at Emerald Bay Pueblo Bonito-hotel is gorgeous, went there a few years ago but not a ton to do in the city

 

Punta Cana - know the least about this destination. Was in Puerto Plata and loved the DR, but Puerto Plata's beaches weren't that great, lots of stuff washes up on them.

 

If anyone has any tips or amazing places I should check out, please send them my way...I feel a little overwhelmed at this point...but REALLY excited at the same time

Welcome! We chose Tulum, Mexico because:

1) It seems that you can get a 5 hour flight to Cancun from anywhere,except Europe

2) Pristine beaches

3) White sand beach

4) A ton to do, cenotes, snorkeling, scuba, wind surfing, ruins, ziplining

Congratulations! My FI and I just got back from a trip to southern Florida to check out beach wedding locations. We wanted to avoid the hassle of passports and also give our guests the option of driving to our wedding if they so chose. All in all we visited 8 resorts and took tons of pics. I would be happy to share any of that info with you, just let me know!
