Need Save the Date ideas

Hello,

So our wedding is about a year out...any ideas for destination save the dates? I'm finding that most save the dates apply for traditional weddings...thoughts?

We did a postcard. We got engaged on a beach, and thought ahead enough to write our STD message in the sand on that beach! We took a picture of it and then put it on a postcard using Vista Print (cost us $27 for 100!). They were also inexpensive to mail out, and fitting with a DW and personal because it was the beach we were engaged on.

I also just got engaged and am looking around for std ideas, i really like the boarding pass style but i don't even know how or where to begin!!

 

If anyone has any suggestions i am open to them as well!!

I think what we're going to do is write our names in the sand next week while we're in cali, take a picture of it, and then once we get the date figured out we'll print that over the top and order business card magnets or postcards from vista print. They're way cheaper then hiring a STD magnet company do it.

Did they have a glossy finish on the picture side?

I initially was going to do postcards. We later decided on Save the Date Magnets. This way our guests could put them on their refrigeradors and see them as a reminder for our special day.

We went with a timeline STD. I loved it!

 

I think it can be altered to fit any relationship 'story'.

 

 

Bit more of a close-up...

We did a luggage tag shaped STD with ribbon on the end as the "tie", set up like an actual luggage tag, with Name: Our Names, Destination: Punta Cana, Date: April 12, 2010. I'm really happy with how they turned out!
