Carnival Cruise Brides?

I am getting married on the Carnival Miracle on Sept 4, 2010. We booked our cruise first(last thurs!), then the next day we called and booked our wedding. We had also put the 24 hour hold on the wedding b4 we booked the cruise. We already sent out e-mail save the dates and we have had a few people book already! We are going to try and sent our save the dates and cruise info for people who don't have internet access asap. Our TA is holding rooms for our guests till the end of august. We are getting married in port NY before we leave so we can have non sailing guests, and so we do not have to stress at all while we are on the cruise, we will get thru it on the first day. I was also concerned with getting my hair and makeup done on the ship, what if i didn't like it?? I am very early into this process having just booked so i will let u know about the process as it happens...

Hey Ashley

I am getting Married in St Thomas by way of the Carnival Freedom. I think with good planning you could do your best to avoid missing your wedding. What we did was we chose an island that doesn't tender. Also St Thomas is one of the least likely islands to be missed during bad weather... Also we chose to go right outside of hurricane season, although we do understand that hurricanes come when they want. We are actually working with an on island wc which has been really beneficial bc I like to be "in the know" in advance. I wouldn't be comfy learning all the details of my wedding a few days before embarkation...

Happy Planning

We wanted a destination wedding on a beach somewhere but our families would not be able to come so we decided to do a cruise wedding. Because the port is only 1.5 hours away our family will be able to attend as we will do it in port. It was the best solution that we could come up with, and I am loving not having to plan as much as my GF.

Most of the reviews on "cruisecritics" were not very favourable of the cruiseship wedding co-ordinators as they are call centers and not many people have spoken with the same person twice. But at the end of the day they all said their wedding days were amazing!

I think we all just want a little more re-assurance that things will be perfect on our day from people we've never met.... ; )

We also decided on St. Thomas for the same reason as ~Prettyhazardous~ and the legal requirements have no wait time. And we're also taking the Carnival to get married in St. Thomas, and using an on island wc. Everything is pretty much a la carte, and works out to be a little cheaper than the cruise packages but with more options. I priced out the Carnival packages and choices, and after a little research found out that if you want an on island wedding ... they contract the on island wc's anyways.

I'm taking a Carnival Cruise after my wedding. Initially I was going to use Carnival Wedding services, but after researching furhter I realized that wasn't the type of wedding that I wanted especially since may guests will not be setting sail with us. Therefore we are getting married in PR the morning of embarkation.

I'm also a Carnival Cruise bride! We are going on the Carnival Sensation out of Port Canaveral and getting married in Nassau, Bahamas on the beach on April 9, 2010. Like many brides on here, I was thinking about going through Carnival, but I didn't like the idea of not being able to get hold of anyone on the phone. And not finding out when and where your wedding is going to be until the day of. I think you get a better deal if you use an island wedding planner too - though it's definitely more difficult for the guests, I think it will be well worth it.

Is it April yet!?!?
