What to ask the resorts?

Hello!

 

I have narrowed down my resort choices, and am getting ready to call to get more specific information. Problem is, I'm drawing a blank, and I don't know where to begin with asking for more information. Can you help me get started?

My big thing is the cost of dinner and dj and food options for the receptions - I am having the ceremony at a church so the reception is my main concern!

 

Also - my TA gave me the tip to check how many people can sleep in each room - for families with 3 or more kids that might be a problem where they have to get more than 1 room

another thing to ask is how much they charge for outside/external vendors... some charge around $400 or they don't even allow outside vendors at all...

You might want to ask what the cost of the "extras" are. So find out what the cost of your package is, what it includes (ie bouquet, decorations, etc), and how much everything is that isn't included. This will give you a better idea of what kind of wedding you can afford. Also ask them what their policy is on outside vendors (ie if you wanted to hire an outside photographer).

If you're doing a private reception find out the number of people required for certain packages and what locations are available to you.

I drew the same blank when thinking what I should ask the resorts, so I made my fiance sit down with me and come up with questions he wanted answers to. The more he came up with, the more I came up with. Some of them are geared towards our resort specifically but you can alter them to wherever. We just sent them to our WC at the resort and she sent them back filled in. Hope they help!

Great list Jessica! I wish I had thought of this. I think most of my questions were answered, but I'm glad you mentioned about the lighting on Las Plamas terrace! I have to ask about that. We are having the ceremony in the gazebo and then reception at Las Palmas.
