Wedding Memories Shadow Box

Has anyone tried to make one of these? My MIL took some of our flowers from our archway, dried them and gave them to me when we got home in the hopes that I would create a shadow box of our wedding ... she must not know me too well - I'm not very creative/artsy - and I keep telling her I'm working on it when I haven't been and I know she wants to see the finished product.

 

I'm trying to put together a list of things to put in this shadow box, without it looking too full - so far I've come up with:

 

1. Roses (I think she brought 3 home)

2. Wedding Day timeline that I spent hours on and forgot to hand out to guests

3. Small container of sand from our wedding location

4. Picture of me and hubby from wedding day.

 

Does anyone have any more ideas that I can use? I did a google search and couldn't find anything that related (i.e. I don't have a garter or gloves)

That is a great idea. You could put in your vows or a quote from your ceremony.

That's a very cute idea! I think everyone gave you great ideas. How about your invitation, centerpiece material, your bouquet, wedding stationary, any DIY items, escort card, program, etc.

That's a great idea! Why not? Anything related to your wedding could go in there, rather than sitting in a box somewhere getting dusty - you can put it on display! I agree though, keep it simple, a few items that have meaning to you will look better than a mish-mash of stuff.

I did one for our invitation. We gave message in a bottle invitations so I just took an extra one with the scroll inside of it as well as an extra scroll flattened out so you can read it. I also included the flowers that I will be using in my bouquet. I hot glued them all to the inside of a deep shadow box. Looks pretty good and I'm no Martha ! You should have no problem at all!

Does anyone have a picture of their completed box? How big of a box did you use? I've seen shadow boxes at Michaels and they are only about 12-16" big and about 6" wide.
