Ceremony Wording?

Recommended Posts

So we leave for ROR in a week and I'm a little concerned with the way the ceremony will go. I got the vows from Chandlyn and we will def not be using the plain resort ones. But just curious if anyone wrote out their entire ceremony?? If not how did it all go? I don't want it too short and I also would like to know what will be said so it will be relevant to us and our relationship.... advice opinions please!

We did use the vows from the resort. The minister did a really good job. We did a sand ceremony and brought the wording we wanted the minister to read. He did a great job. When you meet with Chandlyn just give her the copy of your ceremony and she will pass it along to the minister and he will review it before the actual wedding.

I have been playing the same game with Keisha at BRB. I wanted a version of the ceremony knowing that it may vary depending on the officiant, but the basic version. She keeps telling me not to worry and bring anything I want to add and we can give it to him when we get there. Nice, but how do you make a program from that? So I am writing vows and the sand ceremony and bringing a reading about the importance of family and friends.

What we did is write up our entire ceremony without even looking at the ceremony that the minister had and then when she sent us the ceremony we decided what wording we wanted to use from the minster or if we wanted to keep what we already had. We also decided what stuff we wanted to use and what we wanted to leave out. I then sent my coordinator the complete ceremony and anything I decided that the minister could use his own wording for I put the words "minister can use his own wording" It worked out great for us. Also, the stuff our minister added on his own was beautiful. I then put everything in the order I wanted it to be in and made my program. Now I didn't get married at the hotel. I got married offsite but I'm sure if you tell her that you want to email the ceremony to her in advance, that should be fine. Our minister and us wanted it done in advance so he could become familiar with the ceremony layout and wording.

We are getting married at the RPTB in a few weeks. I contacted Keneika, the WC there, and she said that the legal ceremony isn't planned out for the wording. That the minister will say a few words and we can add whatever we want and bring it down with us for him to review before our ceremony.

I've already written out the wording to be used at the sand ceremony for the minister.

We were going to write out our own vows, but it just became too stressful at least for me. I've already have done so much planning down to every last detail i can think of and have decided I AM DONE! lol Are we ever done, really?

My fiance and I decided to scribe each other a letter to be given before our ceremony so that we can read it before. We will not be staying together the night before, so my bestfriend will be giving it to us, for the exchange. For us, it's more private and I probably wouldn't be fully listening to every word he would be saying because i would be too nervous standing there.

Whatever you chose, good luck with it!

We got married at the ROR and wrote out our entire ceremony, pretty much from the first word he spoke to the last. He added a prayer (guess he forgot it was a civil ceremony) and a couple of other small things, but other than that he just read off the sheet that I gave to Chandlyn at our first meeting.
