Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya Brides??

Recommended Posts

Shahlo,

Could you please let me know what they look like when you receive them?  I think it is a great idea, but I don't want to haul them all the way to Mexico unless they are useful!

Thanks!

Siobhane,

I'll definitely let you know. I asked them for activity brochure so that my guests know about pricing and available activities while they are there. So hopefully there will be something like that. If not, I've already made my own brochure with pictures of activities and approximate pricing that I can just print out and send with my pre-travel brochures. But hopefully theirs will work. I should be getting them sometime next week, so will let you know

First of all congrats to all you future brides and thanks to all the brides that have all posted advice and tips on here!  It has helped so much!  I am very excited to be getting married at the Grand Sirenis in November of this year!  We have confirmed the Presidential Package with the Presidential suite and the Palapa for our reception!  Our second week at the resort unfortunately will not be in the presidential suite but rather in our premium traveler upgraded room (yes we bought into the resort a couple years ago and have no regrets about our decision at all!  In fact we are looking at buying more weeks!)  So needless to say our room will still be delightful.  We also have the opportunity to allow our family and friends the option of using some of our weeks which is fantastic for the family or friends with children as they are able to get the mini-suites which has the main room and another "living room" attached to it with extra pull out sofas.  This will be my third time at the resort and my fiance's fifth time so we know what to expect from staff, rooms, food and everything else the resort has to offer.  So far there are 60 ppl booked to come and the number still seems to be going up!  I am bringing my own photographer which I am thrilled about since photos are one of the most important things to me and I know her work very well.  It worked out that her trip is actually free since we had so many people book the all inclusive they gave us one for free.  I am counting down the days until I leave and have enjoyed reading others reviews about the resort and sharing the excitement with those that are waiting for their big day!  If anyone has any questions about the resort please don't hesitate to contact me and I will do my best to answer them.  My email is [email protected] cheesy.gif

Welcome Mrs. K! And congrats!!!

You sound like my wedding twin! Ì`ve been twice already and our wedding will be our third trip! We're doing the presidential package and palapa and we're staying for two weeks, bringing our own photog! (and have about 60 people) I'm looking forward to hearing about your planning and, of course, the wedding itself!

Welcome to the forum!

I am so releived that I have found this thread. I am getting married at the GS in November and have spent hours reading all the fantastic advice from everyone.

I would like to arrange a group activity that is outside the resort (snorkeling and cadamaran, off-road trip) and would like any advice about how I can arrange this. I know in all-inclusive hotels they offer extra activities for a cost but I'm looking at saving some money and know there are other vendors that offer this

Thanks

Thanks so much!  I am so glad I found this site.  I am on the Grand Sirenis Resort Forum and I love it but there is not much information about weddings on it!  So this is a really nice place to meet people and share ideas.  You must be so excited about your wedding.  4 months until I am outta here!  And it does seem that we are wedding twins.  That is great!

Hi Girls!

11 weeks and counting! We are considering doing an informal "meet & greet" on the night we arrive. We thought it would be a nice way to introduce everyone and catch up with those we haven't seen in a while. We have about 35 people. Can anyone recommend a good bar on the resort for this?

Thanks!

Our wedding is at the GS and I think the meet & greet sounds like a great idea!  We've been trying to decide what to do as well...FI's daughter turns 17 the day we arrive, and his cousin (my BFF) is turning 30 that same day...so we'd like to celebrate those milestones as well (I'm hoping the WC will help us secure a birthday cake of some sort).  We could have everyone up to our suite, but at some point that first night we need to slip away and finish off our OOT bags and get them to the bellman for delivery.  So we decided against hosting something in our room...

It's been about a year and a half since I was at the GS, but I'm thinking the only place that might work to do something like that would be one of the lobby bars (marked "C" and "D" on the map below).  They are GRAND open spaces...you can walk up to the bar to order or a waitress will come around.  Be sure to ask for some popcorn with your bevies (hopefully they still serve it there!  They don't advertise that they have it though.).  Every night they have a table at the front of the lobby bar with a drink special for the night...like one night might be a martini night...and you can always have champagne (hopefully that is still the case as well!)...as well as everything else the bartender can serve up.  One of the reasons we decided to have our wedding back at the GS is because of their lobby bars and how much easier it would be to have a large group mingle together for a lengthy period of time.  Every night they had music in the lobbies as well...jazz trumpet, mariachi...you name it!  It was amazing : )  We preferred the Mezcal side...but you just need to realize that, as far as I know, you are unable to reserve tables for any size groups...but just start pulling chairs together as they become available.  Hope that helps!

Here are some pics to give you a feel for the "vibe" in the lobby bars:
