Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya Brides??

Recommended Posts

Good luck Corbeil and Melaina on your big day. Hope you have a wonderful time. I'm still debating on the wedding packages but i'm definately having the palapa.  It looks wonderful.  I'm not sure how the rehearsal dinner works though if you have the palapa so if anyone knows???

I just filled out the Air Transast form that she sent me, it was only about 2.5 pages. Some of the stuff I don't know so I will leave it blank. I had a hair trial the other day so I think that I am good to go, my friend is being brave enough to give it a try for the weddding :)

Work...who has time for that anymore. Only a couple of more days then we meet up with my family before we go. I can't believe how close it is now. YAY!

Sooooo nothing like having a heart attack at the 11th hour, right? I was browsing some threads in here, and I saw some people talking about having to get their birth certificates translated into Spanish and notarized before they could get married... Has anyone else run into this? Others said that all they had to have was the "long" version of their birth certificate and no translation.

Looking at an email from the resort (forwarded to me via another BDWer), it appears that you only need the translation done if you've been divorced... right? Eeeek -- settle my nerves, gals!!

WEDDINGS ANS DOCUMENTATION

We have two kinds of weddings, the first one is a legal wedding, this is celebrated for a Judge of the peace and  we required the follow     information:

  • Passport and Birth certificate must have the same information.
  • Tourist visa must be filled according to the official document you will present.
  • Blood test should be in done in medical center of the Grand Sirenis. ( $ 180 usd per couple )

·       If the Bride is divorced in Canada and her passport has her ex husband last name, she needs to bring a separate and Original Birth Certificate

certified by the Mexican Consulate and translated into Spanish as well as the certification and her Tourist Visa Card MUST be filled according to the Birth Certificate

·        If the Bride is divorced in United States or United Kingdom and her passport has her ex husband last name, she needs to bring a separate and Original Birth Certificate certified through an APOSTILLE SEAL by the Secretary of State and translated into Spanish as well as the Apostille and her Tourist Visa Card MUST be filled according to the Birth Certificate.

The second wedding is just a Symbolic ceremony or a renewal vows , celebrated for a minister of a person from our staff and we donâ€t required any information for be married by this way.

@ melaina  Hi there,  Good luck with everything.  The translating of birth certificate only as to be done if you have been married before.  I have confirmation from Araceli, as this is something that i came across as everyone i spoke to here in england that have been married in mexico got theirs translated.  I do think that the travel agents just tell everyone that they must do this so the are covered but i book my wedding direct with Grand sirenis and you definately don't need to.  It's just another expense.  the wedding certificate is in spanish and that needs to be translated when you get back again more money but i guess that can be done whenever.  Hope this helps

Hey, does any one know how many locations there are for a beach ceremony? Araceli gave us the option of the palapa beach but she thought that we should have the ceremony time closer to the dinner so there wasn't too much of a gap (4:00 ceremony and 6:00 dinner). We would like to take pictures in between, but I kind of wanted an idea of where we would be having the ceremony to have a time frame.

Hi Kbudchill!

First of all thank you so much for sharing your information! I just fell upon your blog today and my wedding is April 19 at Grand Sirenis. Your insight is calming my nerves and getting me extremely excited now (finally)! I would love it if you could send me the palapa pictures and power point presentation catalogue or something you had mentioned earlier in the posts.

My email is [email protected]

BTW, when did you book your photographer? I'm thinking of using the one they use at the resort since Araceli sent me their website and they're pretty good! I thought it might be something I'd book when I got there, but now I'm panicking and think I should book them in advance.

I understand you must be so busy as you're leaving soon for your wedding, so if you don't respond right away I totally understand.

Have fun in Mexico and hope to read all about your beautiful wedding when you get back!

Good Luck!

Hi Shawna

I'm so glad i found this forum too as reading trip advisor didn't fill me with confidence.  I'm getting married out there on the 1st June.  I am also having their photographer,  i have been emailing them direct and organised the package that i want.  they were really helpful, they told me that i had to pay a $200 deposit so i'm going to get back in touch soon and secure and pay for my booking just to be on the safe side.  I only have one photograph of the palapa that Araceli sent me.  I will forward it to you.  good luck, i'm getting excited now so i'm sure you are too yours is sooner than mine.  Have you sent all your forms in yet requesting what you want?  I've not done mine yet as i'm still thinking about music, flowers etc.  although i am definately having the palapa. Its stunning, well worth the bit extra.
