Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya Brides??

Recommended Posts

You ladies mentioned the MC. Does the resort provide an MC for the wedding? If so, were you happy with the way it turned out and how much did it cost you?

I was thinking of having the best man as the MC - he's got a great sense of humor and he loves coordinating and being in the center of attention :P

Wondering what your thoughts are.

We used the resort MC (his name was Viko) because we didn't have anyone that was "MC material" coming to the wedding and I'm so glad we did. He was worth his weight in gold. I think the cost for him was about $$80-$100 Canadian for the night, but I can check my paperwork tonight when I get home and confirm.

The price wasn't too much, and he made the reception a success. There was not a single moment during my 4 hour reception where people weren't dancing and it was because of him. He was out there leading the charge, and yet not forcing people to dance (I hate when people do that).

My husband and I thought he was so great that we added him on facebook and went to see his band play in Playa del Carmen during our honeymoon. Can't recommended him enough!

We didn't pay for the MC. We had our friend who at the last minute lost his voice so my brother in law stepped in. Like you they had the right personalities.

That said our waitstaff was a blast and would come out and dance. Or teach us dances. It was so much fun. Hence my feelings they deserved a lot more for the service and the fun they provided!

Krystal - don't think o realized you had hired the MC. Glad he was so fantastic :)

Hi, packing all my wedding bits as we leave in 10 days!! Is there anything for the wedding you forgot to pack or wished you had taken? Xx

No we covered most of the bases. I brought extra things we didn't need; like a sewing kit, our extra ribbon we used and such. But we did use scissors and a lot so bring those!

Also make sure you have something to get all your stuff to the WC office. I bought large zip lock type bags and had one per table and sorted all decor like that out for her. Then I had a Tupperware bin or two (shoe box size) with other stuff in it. Made it easier to transport back and forth; not only to their office but also to organize in and keep it safe in your suitcase.

So I'm starting to nail down some of my decor and trying to keep it pretty simple. I want to bring some starfish as this is my theme but then I started thinking are we even allowed to bring starfish in our luggage? I'm just wondering if maybe this would be something that would not be allowed by customs officials. Any advice?

@wpgbtide17 I got married at the grand Sirenis in February and my theme was also starfish. I brought quite a lot of starfish no problem. We split our decor into different suitcases amongst different people incase someone got checked and stuff taken away. Nothing got taken away from us so you should be okay.

Hey,

We have booked our wedding for the Grand Sirenis on the 25th August 2017, we have decided to go for the presidential package and have been assigned Rodrigo as our wedding coordinator. Has anybody dealt with him?

Just wondering if anyone on here has gone for the presidential package, and have any tips?

Has anybody held their reception on the beach? We are considering the Palapa ATM as I can't seem to find any photos of the beach receptions.

Look forward to hearing back

Rachel
