Oh absolutely I would do the same if we weren't having an AHR!

Amy, have you spoke to them about the private reception thing yet? I haven't had a chance to email them but it makes me nervous. I also feel like I keep finding all these extra fees. Has anyone completely planned it and know how much its costing them?

Hi Rose- No I haven't yet. I am not too worried if I do not have a private dinner. I think I'll be in my own little world! However, it would be nice- I have to figure that out. I definitely will not be doing something private like that Los Vitrales room- Theres no way I can afford a fee for a room on top of having the AHR and everything else. For me I don't feel its necessary.

It would be nice to get a section of a restuarant that was at least semi private!

We went to a wedding this summer at the Lindo/Maya and they did NOT have a private reception. However, the wedding coordinator suggested having their dinner at the Gourmet restaurant at the Lindo where there is a back room. Though there was no room to dance or anything, they closed a door to the rest of the restaurant and it was completely private. We all sat at a long table with the bride and groom at the head of the table. You might ask them about this option. And, it didn't cost anything extra. Just a thought!

thats a great idea! I was told by my TA that the Lindo guests can't use the gourmet restaurant, but either she's wrong or maybe it doesn't matter for a wedding? Semi private is fine and so far we're not planning to dance- going to the 'club' at the resort in the convention center is fine by me since we have the AHR. we'll see- i may change my mind!

We are staying at the Del Mar...sorry I can't help. But your TA should be able to advise you on that.

If you want to play around with the time frame and cost you can check out applevacations.com and gogotravel.com

Those are two vendors we use.

Hi Ladies!

I need some input :)

One of my bridesmaids is a florist, so she will be making the bouquets for me once we arrive in Mexico and I am trying to determine where the best place will be to purchase the flowers. Are any of you going through an outside florist? And if so, where are they located? I'm hoping to find somewhere right in Playa that we can make a trip to pick out the flowers rather than having to pay to have them delivered to then create the bouquets. Any words of windom would be appreciated!

Thanks!!
