The Jackson 5 was the most popular group when I was growing up. I joined Michael's fan club and wrote him letters. I thought he was the cutest boy ever! He as been a part of my life for a long time and will always remain in my heart. He is a musical genius! Can you imagine the number of songs he has written that have never been produced? I was so sad watching the CBS special about him. He had such a sad and reclusive life because of his FANS!

We (and his father) made it so the man could never lead a normal life. What did people expect would happen to him? I do hope he can now rest in peace.

I did not believe it at first...I was getting text messages about it I thought it was a very bad joke ..it wasnt until I got off at 42nd and Broadway that I knew the King of Pop was really gone...The amount of people that were there singing his songs and crying was unbelievible.... He will truly be missed....R.I.P Michael Jackson..

Can't believe this STILL!

Loved MJ's music. He was and always will be a legend. I just hope his family can get through this peacefully and the press isn't too obsessed. I brought a couple cds to work today and I'm going to have an MJ day :)

I still can't wrap my head around this, it is so sad. Between the sad new and pregnancy hormones, I have spent my morning fighting off tears. My mom called me last night to tell me the news and all I could say was "You're censored.gifkidding, right?" I just couldn't believe it and still can't. He was AMAZING!! While his influence is obvious in performers like JT, his ability will never be matched. I remember dancing around the house to his music, I loved the Jackson 5 stuff, and his solo song "Ben" was a favorite for my brother and I as kids. I remember being afraid of the Thriller video when I real young, and then being amazed by it as I got older. His so called "fall from grace" was difficult to see and I truly felt he was taken advantage of and possibly lied about. He seemed like a good natured person who truly cared for people. Yes, he did some strange things, but it seemed to all be in the name of recapturing a childhood that he never got to have, and who can blame him for that. He will never be forgotten, like Elvis and John Lennon before him, he died too soon and the world of music will never be the same.

I will always miss Michael, but I was watching CNN last night while cooking and they were talking w/ Sheryl Crow (who actually started her career as his back up singer) and she made a great point. She said could you ever image Michael 82? We never picture him growing up. I'm happy that this is how I will remember him. He will never be old in my eyes!
