Future Mrs. Griffith, you are charging your guests for a day pass to attend your wedding?? Are you telling them in a website or invitation? Ive wanted to do an all inclusive but knowing not everyone would stay there I didnt want to bother with the extra cost...just curious as to your reasoning :)

I am not charging the guests at all, the hotel does that. I just put in our STD and will put in the invitations that if you choose to stay at a different resort you will have to pay a day fee to come to the wedding. Everyone so far is staying at my resort anyways and we got them pretty good package deals, so if someone wanted to stay at a different resort the day pass is on them. We first thought about covering it, but then thought if someone wants to stay at another resort that is up to them and at $80 a day pass I can't afford to pay for people who choose to not stay at the resort. Our hotel is an all-inclusive and most people want to stay there because in the long run it is cheaper than buying your brkfst-dinner at restuarants.

The reason the day pass is so high, is because our resort has a private beach so they don't let just anyone through the security gates.

I can't remember who I got this from, but someone posted this wording and I am using it on my website:

Although it would be fantastic to have all of our loved ones there as witnesses, we understand that limitations exist. For those who are unable to join us, it is our hope that you look south on our special day and think of us, wishing us well as we begin our new lives together.

With Love,

Our Names

It seemed to get the point across and sounded nice. :-)

Also, I chose not to put it on my invite and just put it on my website because I figured that most everyone would look there. (I did put the wedding website address on my save the date cards.)

Awesome wording esp re the registry bc that's tricky itself to word properly!

Please also feel free to research your travel on your own. But please keep in mind that if you do not stay at the resort there will be a fee for a day pass in order to attend the wedding festivities.

In terms of the present I agree with the other girls about putting "please know that your presence at our wedding is present enough." That is what we are going to put but still register some places because there will be people who can't come to our wedding that will want to buy us a gift. So if you do that you could put in there "please know that your presence at our wedding is present enough. But some requests for registries have been made so we have registered at...." or something like that!
