Ceremony Translation

Recommended Posts

We did the legal ceremony in Cabo, the judge officiated & Mariana, the WC at Dreams, interpreted. We liked the fact that we were getting married in Mexico and the ceremony was in Spanish. I'm so glad we decided to do the legal ceremony- I know had we done a symbolic ceremony it just wouldn't have seemed as "real" to me. Just my personal opinion- I'm sure the symbolic ceremonies all the other brides have had were just as "real" to them...I'm just anal like that lol.

We could have inserted our own vows, but Jeff didn't want to- so we just added in the sand ceremony & my dad & bother sang a song right before we exchanged rings. It was really nice...

If you are interested, my entire ceremony is up on YouTube...

A friend of mine had a great idea. She got married in Cabo and had her brother translate (she got a copy of the ceremony ahead of time, he doesn't speak Spanish). It turned out to be very special because in the end.. it was her brother who said "I now pronounce you man and wife".. simply because he was translating.

That sounds wonderful! Originally I was thinking of having my uncle marry us (hes a lawyer) but my FI didn't think it would feel real. I like this idea because then it will be legal and real as well as special.

Thanks again,

Jessica

Love this idea, we're trying to figure out who we want to "marry" us since we're getting legally married at home, but this allows for a special touch to the ceremony.

Great idea.

Yes, according to my WC, anyone can translate. Since I'm only having my two sisters as maids of honor, we decided to have Brendan's two sisters translate so they too could be involved in the wedding. They'll take turns reading which I think is going to be really nice.

Really? My FI was not very happy with the ceremony being in a different language. I don't know how I feel about getting legally married prior to our ceremony. I think its special for our family and friends to see us get legally married. Hmmmm.. I'll have to think about this one.
