The only "rule" is that you be in absolute love with your gown. I've seen FAR more elaborate gowns worn for DW's...believe me, you don't need to be worried about how formal/informal it is! If you love it and your belly tells you this is it, GET IT! btw, it's gorgeous!

Gosh if you feel like this is THE DRESS you should totally do it. you don't want to have any regrets thinking - i should have gotten that dress. its a lovely dress!! DO IT!

I think that dress is gorgeous! And I agree with the sentiment that other posters have expressed, that for a DW there are no rules and you should wear whatever you love and feel comfortable in! That being said, even if there were "rules" around the formality of the dress, I don't think that dress is too formal at all! Especially since you are not getting married on the beach.
