$$$--where to get it & how to save?!

not sure if this has been suggested, but my FI found a painless easy way to save, a "honeymoon pot" or just savings pot. We pounded a slot in the top of a clean, never used, paint can and decorated it a bit. Whenever we have loose change we throw it in there. I put in at least $10 a week for sure and I snuck a count in a few weeks ago and we had some decent cash going. Our plan is/ was not to open it until before we leave and then take it to the bank and cash it to use on some honeymoon stuff.

 

The thing is when you don't carry change, you make even more of it. Also, were we live a lot of homeless guys are roaming around asking for handouts and this way we can honestly say we don't have any change. I think some of our guests have also seen the pot and slipped their own coins in.
