We ate at the Mafolie once since our villa was about 1 minute up the mountain. We didn't eat at the Marriot so I can't compare but I will say this...

Other brides I know who have gotten married in St. Thomas absolutely LOVE the food at Mafolie. The think it's fabulous. It's a nice place, but Brian and I didn't like the food as much as everyone else.

I think though the reason for this is more of a cheeseburger and fries guy and essentially has a ruined palate because all the fast fod he consumes. Me... I think it was a combo of ordering the wrong thing (I ordered a pasta dish that was tossed with vegetables and oil... and I'm more of a red sauce person, so this was my fault for ordering something I kinda knew I wasn't going to like) and the fact that a lot of food just tastes bad to me right now (pregnancy is fun!!).

Considering the way everyone else raves about Mafolie though, I think you will be fine if you choose them. Plus the restuarant offers a great view... in fact, it was the same view you could see from our villa. The staff is really friendly and it would be a great choice.

I can't say I've heard much about the Marriot though. What a tough decision!
