Hi Guys,

 

My name is Jamie and I am looking at getting married in the Dominican Republic in April 2010.

 

I am looking for a 24 hr all inclusive that is not more than 550 rooms, has a swim-up bar, accepts children and would not kill my budget minded guests.

 

I had looked at Breezes Puerto Plata but that seems to be under new management and I have not been able to get any more concrete info on the location, also I am looking at the Iberostar Dominicana but the wedding package has a price...I know I am cheap. :P

 

I just want to go and everyone have a good time but as my crew usually flies as a sell off vacation WAYyyyyy cheaper then I am going to get as a group rate...any suggestions would be helpful...PLEASE HELP ME. lol Everytime I look at a review and I think it's a good spot I hear something that scares me. If anyone can provide ANY assistance, that would be great.

Welcome to the forum Jamie! I know....its overwhelming!! I had the exact same problem when trying to nail down a location. The problem that I find with giving advice on this sort of thing is that I find it's a very personal decision as not everyone values the same thing in a trip and wedding. It looks like you've started listing your must haves, so I would go from there and start searching under the DR threads! Good luck and happy planning!

hi,

welcome.chill and it will get sorted.where in the dominican do you want to go?i.e north or south.we went to riu bachata in north on a holiday and that was great?with it being a riu as well they have the lower star hotels next to each other (cheaper)which gives your guests the option.some riu,s do request that 80% of the guests stay at the wedding location though.
