All of you T&C brides out there!!!

You don't have to do anything. When you get married the pastor will give you a copy of your marriage certificate which you take with you and can use to change your passport, driver's license, etc. A formal copy (bearing a gold seal of T&C) will be mailed to our house later (we got ours about a month later). Though the laws differ from State to State your marriage will be recognized, you don't need to go through any additional steps. Hope that answers your question.

This is probably a dumb question to ask at this point since my wedding is two months from now down in T&C, but does anyone know what we have to do to make our marriage legal in the US (if anything)?  I've tried to search the internet for what we need to do to make sure our marriage will be valid, but can't find anything.  I live in upstate NY, so I'm not sure if that makes a difference as I know the laws differ from state to state.  Any help is appreciated!  Thanks in advance!

There are 6-7 musicians that all like playing together but in different combinations (I hope that isn't too confusing) of 3-4 guys.  Press Gang/Bowen Arrow/Soul Redemption are their 3 bands.   So one guy may play in two of the bands and another may play in one or two.  I know they each band is different in what they play.  My kids go to school with David Bowen's kids (who is in all three) and also take sewing from David Klinko's wife (he's a drummer in them).  I will try to check with them this weekend to see which might best fit your description.  (I think Soul Redemption is more background "soulful" music).   I will also get an email from David Bowen so you can contact them directly.  (FYI I have been trying to get these guys to get a playlist or video online for ages...but between their day jobs and playing in the evening, just can't get it happening LOL)

I'll get back to you after the weekend!

Hi,

I talked to David Bowen this morning, He is the main contact for Bowen Arrow and Soul Redemption.  Press Gang and Bowen Arrow are the same band they just changed their name (which is why you may not be able to find contact info).

David is a great guy, very talented (actually danced with Micheal Jackson in the "Beat It" Video).  He teaches hip hop/jazz and cultural dance/drumming to my kids and is the cultural director for the Turks and Caicos.

This is the contact info

Contact Info:
David Bowen
Email:  dbowen3@me.com
Phone: (649)242-5278

Let me know if you need anything else.

I am sure he can give you an idea of a play list with each band.

Hi Krys,

Can you recommend a hotel that's close to Beaches that is nice but less expensive for guests who prefer not to stay at Beaches?

Thanks

The Seven Stars is also a new resort and having been looking to drum up business in the wedding department. My friend who is a travel agent is very good friends with the property manager and he had initially tried to talk me into doing our wedding there. I was a bit put off since they are so new.
The Somerset is a beautiful property, I would say it is a bit higher in price range from the Sands and Ocean Club. You are right that Seven stars is trying to attract business as it is under a new management company, but we are finding most of the resorts willing to work to attract business, especially wedding business. You'll love the Somerset (and it's right next to the Palms spa which is really nice as well!!!)

Next door to Beaches to the East is The Veranda, it's all inclusive, brand new, and probably a bit less (condo style rooms with full kitchens), on the other side of the Veranda is The Alexandria and that is also Condo style rooms but not all inclusive (many go to the grocery store and just eat out for lunch or dinner and fix other meals in their room.  I would think the Alexandria is an even better rate than the Veranda.  To the west you have Turks and Caicos Club and Coral Gardens...all are quick walks along the beach to Beaches.  Tell them to check www.turksandcaicosreservations.tc for rates etc.  They are locally based, have all of the specials all of the resorts are running and even a few you won't find anywhere else, as well as they have all of the resorts listed in one place you can compare.  (I have no interest or relationship with this company, they just really do a great job and it's nice to have it all on one website!).

Hope that helps!

Thanks!  This is very helpful.  I thought I read somewhere recently that Beaches is or might be purchasing The Veranda.  Do you know if that sale has gone through?
