Poolside reception: Anyone have anything other than a buffet?

Hi!

I have (another) question about the ROR poolside reception. Has anybody had anything other than the serve-yourself buffet? How much extra did it cost? What was the meal like?

I considered this, but my TA strongly advised against plated service. If you read the reviews, you will see that some people were eating at the plantation and mammee bay, while others were waiting. This also happend to us at our rehearsal dinner at the plantation. The food trickled out and some people were just starting their dinners when others were completely finished. It really stretched dinner out too much - nearly 2 hours - which cuts out of your 4-hour reception time. We used the BBQ buffet and everyone was raving about it.
