weather in dr?

so I have been looking online but, I am looking to see what the weather is like in the DR. I know it depends on seasons, and am not sure when hurricane season is.... but was just wondering because the whole reason to have a DW is because we want to get married on the beach and if the weather is horrible (which I know is out of our control) we probably won't be able to get married on the beach. I know there is no perfect time, but any opinions or links anyone has on the weather there? also, how have you planned your date? is september/october too risky? thanks in advance!

This site Dominican Republic Weather | dominicanrepublic-guide.info gives really good averages for temperatures, rainfall, etc. even down to the time of day ... tons of details and info on hurricane season.

I'd stay away from Sept/Oct. We were married in April and not only was the weather great - so were the rates. (as long as you avoid dates around Easter and Passover).

Does anyone know how the summer months are? I'm getting married at the beginning of August and am hoping it's not unbearably hot!

Thanks for all the help! I'm gonna check out those sites. I'm a school teacher so I really can't go whenever, but if I can work it around when we are off then I will be ok. At the same time, we were planning on having our "legal" ceremony at home in April 2010 and didn't want to wait too long after to get married... yet next April 2010 is not good for us to have the destination wedding. I'm sure I will figure something out! Thanks for all the help!

Steffi234 - go to the site I posted above and you can pick the month you'll be there for weather averages at that time.
