Non-chuppah/canopy altar ideas?

Recommended Posts

Any brides out there not using a chuppah or canopy for your altar? The options in Cabo are pricey and I think I'd like to spend the money elsewhere. Can you post or send any cute ideas for aisle decorations?

Also, who carried decorations down there vs. renting?

Thanks,

Lauren

We are not having a huppah do to price as well. We are still considering the idea of a palm leaf arch thing:

We are having tikis down our aisle w/ an orchid garland i made (inspiration from amy http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t15191) we'll hang it along the tikis. We'll have mats down the aisle w/ cream rose petals. Here was our inspiration, but we won't have the table and our tikis will be brown, and we'll have chairs on both sides. We'll have the large shells, but our WC pics local fresh flowers to decorate w/. and here's an inspiration pic of the parasol we'll have at the end of the aisle since we have an odd number of chairs.

We're not using a chuppah or anything at the altar. We're going to have something hanging off the arm of the each aisle chair (DIY). I want to have an aisle runner with some petals on it but I haven't figured that out yet, i.e. whether we bring it, or rent it from somewhere?? But at the front of the altar it will just be us and the officiant (my brother)!

We're just have an arch. It's the one one that they use for the beach ceremonies. Very basic. I'm making sure that the chairs have covers on them and chair sashes, which we are bringing down with us. I opted to buy them and bring down opposes to "renting" them at $12 or so for what.... about 30 min?

My WC said that we can use petals from the flower garden to sprinkle to make an aisle and for my daughter to sprinkle down the middle.

Good Luck Planning!
