Booking Direct with Hotel???

Hi,

 

We have decide to get married in Mexcio at one of the Real Resorts and just wondered if anyone had any thoughts on booking direct with the hotel vs with a travel agent

 

My instinct is to book direct with hotel.

 

Any thoughts much appreciated.

I would get quotes direct and with a couple travel agents. I ended up getting a better deal from a TA with their negotiation power.

I am also getting married at Real (in Playa) and plan on going thru a travel agent. As far as I can tell, the resort doesn't do packages (hotel/air) so if you went through them you would have to pay seperate - which I can imagine would get expensive. My sense is that not only can a TA get better deals, but they would be package deals. That's my plan, although I need to find a TA!!

You can usually find better deals through a TA or online if you decide not to use a TA. I think the hotels usually charge closer to their rack rates for direct bookings. Unless they have a wedding planner and work out a roup discount. I'd check with some TA's first, definitely...
