Myregistry.com - Has anyone used before?

Recommended Posts

Wow this whole online registry thing sounds great. I can't imagine we will get many gifts we don't have many people going or for that matter many we are inviting but it's still good to have, just in case and for the shower too.

Did anyone answer the question as to whether or not if you have something from Target on the myregistry if they go into the store and buy it if it deducts it online?

Thanks!

I am setting up my myregistry right now. I'm pretty sure the person would have to log onto myregistry to remove it themselves.

I don't think I'll register for anything from target through myregistry. I'll just do target in the store because it's linked to the target online.

I made mine say "house fund" because any cash we are given now will be saved for a house we'll buy once we move to a town we plan on staying in.

You have to sign up for a premier paypal account to use this option. Paypal is free, but does charge fees when you receive money. It's around 3%.

I'll still do an in store registry for those who don't like to shop online.

We did LNT for those who need the in-store option. I love myregistry.com so much more. Problem with deal hunting, is that most deals are time limited. You never know what the cost of the item will be when your guest gets around to buying it. Also, most good deals entail discount codes, rebates or coupons, and I'm not sure how you would pass those on to your guests.

Regardless, the flexibility to add gifts from as many stores as you want, the ease of use, and the ability to custom design your own honeymoon site with much less "taxation" make this a real winner!!!

While the site is pretty easy to use, I also predict a guest or two will manage to purchase something without it getting logged. Not really a big deal though, especially with all of the other upside listed above.

I was wondering about this site myself (myregistry.com). I am new to this site and still getting through all the posts...you girls move fast!!!

I started saving to myregistry.com,but haven't posted on my wedding website yet. It is actually really easy to save whatever you like! I like the cash option feature bc i find most people do give cash.

Honestly, I have told the guests that are coming to our wedding that we do not expect anything from them since it is already an expense to come to our wedding. However, my BMs asked me to do some sort of registry for the people that want to give and for the people that won't be able to make it.

Any other feedback is always appreciated. I am curious how people are responding to buying the gifts online....

Thanks!

Becky

To verify this is correct. If there is a store that you want many items from, thenjust register there separately. Use myregistry.com for all other odd-ball items, things not available online, gift certificates, items at the resort, etc...

When you go to an item on the myregistry site, it takes you to the webpage where you can buy it. When you close that page out, it brings up a window asking did you buy the item so it will be updated. More fool proof than I would have expected, but still very good.

Worst case scenario is you get doubles and return one or don't get somethign you thought you would, and then you have to buy it yourself...

I just set up a myregistry and love it! I used the cash fund for a new marital bed as we both still have old garage sale beds form the college years. I also liked that you could add spa gift certificates from FTD.com that can be used at thousands of spa locations...you can see if there is a participating spa near your honeymoon location or maybe as a bridal shower gift use some of it for the pampering before the wedding. I added travel guides for Hawaii from BarnesandNoble.com. I love the flexibility of the items you can add! I moved a lot of things from Target.com to this registry instead.

Well, unfortunately, I did not have such a good experience with myregistry. They make it very difficult for guests to mark gifts as purchased and I had to e-mail their customer service people over 5 times to mark the gifts. Also, many of the items I registered for became sold out or were'nt available and I was never notified. My guests had not one good thing to say about using the site, so although it seems great to do it all online, I recommend you at least you make on registry in a store just in case you and your guests run into problems like we did.
