I did one for my FI for Valentines day and the quality is the same as the ones I am seeing on Sharedink.
They have templates and I know ours were "full bleed" (only just figure out what that ment :P )
I spent hours making it look nice then clicked to send it on it way. You can pick leather covers and many other options. I was very happy! I am doing one for our engagement party.
Take a look- can't hurt.
Let me know if you want to see pictures of the one we did of our trip.

hi stephanie,

shutterfly does make nice books...the thing with sharedink books are they are a tad nicer and you can customize them...like get a gold embossed letter on the front...or a logo...or design the pages exactly how you want them.

you cant do that with shutterfly.

oooh I see.

I didn't have any issues using it. I actually liked the site. I can save my book and think on it for a while before placing the order.

I agree that you can get a nicer cover but I kind of like the look of the ones they have. Just throwing the idea out there for those of you who don't want to buy software.

Good luck and happy creating.

Has anyone tried Blurb | Self publish with free BookSmart software for Windows or Mac for a photo book? I have never made a photo book, but would like to try, and I had read some reviews of Blurb on the internet. I had never heard of Shared Ink until now, but it sounds like this may be the way to go. Just wondering if anyone had any experience with this Blurb site.

HELP!!

I feel so slow! lol. I'm having a lot of fun creating my engagement album with lumapix, but I've bumped into a problem.

Some of my pages will have full-bleed and some will have the border. I e-mailed Chris about it, and he pretty much gave me all the same info as Jess posted. But, I just want to make sure I understand everything before I submit my album.

If I want full bleed, I format to these additional measurements:

TOP: 0.125"

BOTTOM: 0.125"

FACE (OUTSIDE EDGE): 0.125"

SPINE (INSIDE EDGE): 0.25"

But if I want borders, I just keep them at 8x6?? Is that right? It makes [some] sense to me, but I just want to make sure so I'm not disappointed when I get the books back!

Part Two to this question...

when I upload my full-bleed pictures to SharedInk, the info next to the picture says this:

Image Information

Dimensions: 2400 x 1800

Resolution: 8.00" x 6.00" @ 300 dpi

Type: JPG Image

Size: 3.62 MB

huh.gif How do I get it to the extended dimensions to allow for a full-bleed? Or am I completely misunderstanding something??
