We are getting married at Dreams PC too!! We will be leaving here April 23. The actual wedding date is not finalized yet but we have to be there for 3 days before the wedding. We leave on a Friday so they say travel day does not count. And for some reason Sunday does not count as a day either? I'm not sure why. So it will either have to be the 28th or 29th. Maybe we'll be married on the same day!! We only booked two days ago. I feel like I am light years behind eveyone else in terms of planning. I have no idea what to do about STD's. I like the fridge magnet idea. I guess I should get on that pretty soon. We we originally going to go with RIU Palace PC but I was reading reviews and something didn't feel quite right about it. I am happy with our choice.

Ladies, I have not so good news... I go to bridal salon on Friday with every intent on purchasing my what I thought was my dream dress. As I am walking into the salon I spot the most GORGEOUS gown in the window display so I of course had to try it. The owner had just put the gown in the window, not even an hour before I got there. Needless to say I don't have any pics since I had every intention of purchasing the other gown

I also tried a few other beautiful gowns that she had just gotten in, so it looks as though I am back to square one with no dress

On a more positive note, I'm loving everyone's dresses... They are so beautiful!!!

Hi Everyone,

 

I am getting married at ROR on April 19th 2010. I just sent out my STD's and have a couple people RSVP's already. As for everything else I am at a loss. I have tried on a couple dresses but have no idea what style I am even going for. I am going out again next weekend and hope to have a little more success. I didn't realize a DW requires so much planning and thought. I am going to need alot of help and ideas to make this the day of my dreams!!

kimmy! i'm so glad you found this thread!! definitely keep me posted on your photography searches! if you are interested in someone local i found TM Photography and Bluebird Photography while i was trying to find a makeup artist for my BD and engagement pictures and they had gorgeous pictures!

 

jules, it sounds like you have a lot of stuff done so far! it's so hard to compare to one another though! some people go super extravagent and some go super simple, but it sounds like everyone is coming along really nicely! also, FI's bday is april 1st and we may use that as our legal day, just to be goofy.. it will give your anniversary some character and make anniversary presents interesting!

 

diana, that hair style is beautiful. at the beginning of april hopefully the humidity isn't TOO bad and you'd be able to pull it off! worth a shot at least!

 

ndinn, we will definitely be there at the same time!! we will get in on the 24th, and since our ceremony will be symbolic (too much legal stuff and $$ to do it legally in the DR) we don't have to worry about the 3 day rule that the resort has. if you don't hear from the WC with a date confirmation in about a week, let me know and i'll give you an email address where you can contact them directly. the form on the website doesn't always go through right! make sure you check out the forums on here as well as the dreams website... you will be caught up in NO time!

 

christina, who was the designer of the dress you saw in the window? at least this way you know you are going to get the perfect one and you still have plenty of time!!

 

niki, you have come to the right place! anything you need is here and before long you will have everything sorted out, i'm sure of it!

niki - don't worry - there is so much info on here - we will get you going in the right direction. You picked your place and sent STDs so you are ahead of the game. Keep trying on dresses and you'll find yours.

 

Diana - there is a ton of humidity in PC - I was there in September, but I think it won't be as bad in April. The picture you posted is really pretty.

 

Are you all going to put pricing info in your invitations or just TA contact info? I saw one of the girls invites that put a whole pricing sheet in hers.

michele, i just checked out your tattoos and i love the sun!! i also think i know EXACTLY which picture you got your cherry blossoms from, because i almost got the same exact thing on my side! i decided to go a different route, but i'll post my pictures up on that thread when i get home and can take pics of my other ones!

 

on my invitations (finished last night.. wooo!!) i just included TA info. this is partially because my parents are footing the bill for all immediate family members, but also because people are coming from different places and on different days so it would have to be an entire sheet with info! definitely an option if you are that organized though!

I'm an April bride too April 17, 2010 at the occidental grand xcaret in riviera maya, Mexico.

 

I'm no way near as far into the planning as you guys. I picked out a dress last month, started a website, and choose colors - aqua and red. This week my goals are to get the save-the-dates out and sign a contract with a photographer. Glad I found this thread -- it's going to keep me motivated to get stuff done!

Hey girls-

 

I am also a April 2010 Bride...April 23, 2010 at Excellence Resort Punta Cana. We wanted an adults only resort since there wouldnt be any kids that could go anyways. So far we have the date and resort booked, the photographer from photosovenirs booked and the STD's sent out a month ago. I am working with a TA from BDW but like most of you, no one has called her. My FI and I have a website: nicoleandaustin.wedquarters.com if you want to check it out. On the website is the TA's info but no one has booked yet. It is definately frustrated but in my mind, I think its still a little early. I went dress shopping last week and fell in love with Maggie Sottero Lavina Lavina - by Maggie Sottero. The picture doesnt do it justice but I felt gorgeous in it. Not beachy really like I thought I would like but first dress that I thought to myself "now i look like a bride". So glad I found this site.

Haha, that's like me and FI but he has his fantasy sports teams to keep an eye on and I have BDW.

I have been so busy with work that I haven't been keeping up on this thread, there are lots of new April brides!! woo hoo!!

FI and I were on a roll with printing out our STDs when I noticed some unfinished sentences about the Moon Palace on one of our boarding passes, ahah.. honest mistake. When I do finish I'll post pics up, hopefully nothing else will go wrong
