LOL bananas! they really don't get this!

Simistar THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! for posting this. i know it must have been hard at the time although I bet it feels good to let it out! Your wording was fantastic and very tastefully done.

Since i've been on BDW I have seen lots of requests on his work yet there hasn't been any responses. I personally feel if you see someones work and its fantastic and you want it you go for it, majority of people are this way. I think it really says something about someone when several brides are requesting reviews. And it makes a lot of sense after all the emails I'm reading. to me it kind of sounds like brides love his work but once they have contacted him they are a bit worried/weirded out/put off and want to know reviews to see if its worth it.

Don't let his threatening of the forum affect you. I hope he doesn't start harrassing you. If he does ignore him, make a folder in your inbox for him and just put them in there, brush it off.

HE HAS DONE THIS TO HIMSELF!

this forum has amazing women (yourself included) and some of these girls I've become friends with. but really for me I live for planning threads and reviews. I get sooooo much inspiration from planning threads and reviews are so helpful!!!! I'm glad you posted this review, others need to know!

I also have to agree you looked amazing on your wedding day and I you seemed sooo genuinely happy!!! I'm glad some of his photos did this for you and that you have some great photos from your guests.

Story by photo- what amazing offer!!! this is why I love BDW members. We're all here for each other.

when will vendors ever learn...threatening legal action for a review made against them is never the right approach. it just gives them more negative publicity.
WHAAAAAAT?? Really?? Yikes!
What/who's "the OP"...? Is that ME?
Good luck suing me... I ain't got nothin' to take!:-) Unless he wants my visa and student loan
debt...?:-)

Okay, but for realsies... do I need to be worried...?
And Tammy, if YOU want me to take it down to avoid the hassle, I don't mind... but I don't want to take it down just b/c HE asked for it...

Also, I was curious... I used to see small ads for his company at the top of the page when I logged on to BDW...haven't seen those in the past day or two...did he remove those as well...?

Sigh.

Sorry to be such a trouble maker!!

Ooohh...I'm SO sorry you lost your $500! (maybe, magically, he'll come through and send a videographer...? fryingpan.gif)
But sincerely, you will be glad you booked someone else, even minus your $500!
(Actually, we had wanted Cecilia Dumas as well, but she was booked our wedding date....)
Good luck!!!

While I am by no means an expert on Internet Law. I do know that there is no basis for any claim that he might make unless you were not telling the truth. What's he going to say, really? "Yes, I did all of those things but I don't want anyone to know." Arggg... it's so frustrating that people don't seem to understand, if you don't want bad reviews don't do bad work!

Simistar, your review was and is greatly appreciated by a lot of people, don't let yourself worry about it, IMHO. You wrote a fair and honest review and it's wonderful that BDW stands by these reviews so that b2b know they are getting the best information that is available.

Oh, I was definitely telling the truth! :-)
In fact, I saved all our e-mails back and forth with him and his company etc etc...

What would be great is, if he read this review and actually paused for some self-introspection and thought, hey, maybe I can do things better...
But I guess we all know that likely won't happen...:-)

Michael Maurus sent me an email asking to post his side of the story. here it is:

==============

Dear board members,

many of our satisfied and happy clients, who are also members of this board made us aware of Michelle's post and we would like to use this opportunity to clarify her accusations.

As much as we understand and feel for Michelle that she had the problem with her hairdresser and about everybody else at the resort, we can not accept her comments.

Michelle hired us for a 3 hour coverage of her wedding day which should have ended just during sunset.

Due to her being late because she was very unhappy and frustrated with her make up and hairdresser and had them re-do it over and over again, she missed the best light of the

day for her photos.

As much as we sympathize with her for that lost opportunity, she obviously has chosen us to vent her frustration and anger.

Please see below photos for explanation.

This is the light when the wedding should have been and the groom is waiting.

This is the light when Michelle finally arrived after having had her hair and make up re-done.

Of course resulting in a dark background during the ceremony.

We agreed to do another shoot the next day with her and David.......

Again, thank you very much for letting us tell our side of the story.

Have a great weekend.

Kind Regards

Wow...I can't really say that I see "his side" at all? Not much of an attempt for an explanation or to try to regain some of the BDW brides trust?

AND why did the wedding guests pictures (lighting) look so much better than the professional photographers pictures (lighting) when the pictures were taken at the same time. I can only speak for myself...but I'm not buying it...

Michelle did get quite a few nice TTD pictures the next day though :)
