So I am freaking out tonight. I have now heard from a friend and ask costa rica that this is a port town and not a great place to get married....we have not sent out STD's but have started to tell people 4/10/2010 at the Double Tree Puntarenas.

I think we made the mistake of trying to make too many people happy as this was not our first choice location and now it is back firing.

Thanks for letting me vent and any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

I know exactly how you feel. We almost chose the Doubletree too, because its cheaper to fly into San Jose compared to Liberia, the room rates are reasonable and its all-inclusive. But we shyed away from it because we heard the beach was not that great, we want a white sandy beach and don't want to sacrafice what "we" want since its our big day. We decided we want to be in the Gaunacaste area, but haven't finalized a resort yet. We're looking at mid April 2010 as well!! We have Paradisus and Flamingo in mind, two totally different price ranges. We're asking friends and family to help us decide. What was your first choice?

Laura, I tried sending this message to you thru this in inbox, I am not sure you got it so I am responding thru this topic.

 

Laura driving to Puntarenas would just as easy as driving to Jaco (same driving time). I would definitely prefer this over the Double Tree. Jaco's is still very popular and touristy but much better. There are a lot of activities you can do in jaco and the Best Western Jaco is an all inclusive.

You will be an hour away from Manuel Antonio to do something different.
