Attaching beading to plain veil

I bought this veil on ebay for $0.99 + $4.95 shipping. I really liked a veil I tried on in an Alfred Angelo store that had beading on the edge. Would I be able to attach some crystals to the edge of this veil?

 

If so, what kind of crystals or beads should I buy? I'm not comfortable with sewing, so could I buy the flat ones and glue them on? Anyone have experience with this?
