Chantelle & RIU Montego Bay Question ?

Recommended Posts

So Ladies--HELP ! My daughter is getting married at the RMB in just 4 weeks & she has been having a major problem with getting confirmation e-mails from Chantelle. I understand that as the WC she is very busy & I have heard she is a staff of one with not many office resources, BUT how long does it take to respond with YES to an e-mail. My daughter is NOT a bridezilla by any means, she is very patient & has not been a pain about asking a million questions...she is willing to make most of the decisions about the wedding when we get down to Jamaica....BUT what she wants to know is did Chantelle receive the legal documents and is everything in order ? She sent the papers by registered FED-EX & according to the Fed-EX tracing info, they are there, but does Chantelle have them IN HER OFFICE or where are they ? All she wants is the re-assurance they have been received & the marriage application has been applied for !! Is a simple e-mail from Chantelle so difficult ?? I have read many horror stories about the legal documents not being received & then having to fax or scan them just prior to the wedding or some legal papers NEVER being received at all. Have other RMB brides had this same experience in the past or going thru this right now yourselves ??

I DO know she is sending them to the correct e-mail [email protected] & DOES include her wedding date & time in the subject line as she was told. We are starting to regret our decision to have the wedding at the RIU-Montego Bay...the lack of communication is absolutely RIDICULOUS !!

NOT a very happy, MOTHER OF BRIDE---KAY

Kay, I'm sorry for your frustration about the lack of communication from RMB, especially with the wedding 4 weeks away. As a past ROR bride I can't give you any insight into how much longer it will take the WC to respond, but I can totally understand how upset you are as I remember how anxious I was to hear from Chandlyn on some important issues as well. I can definitely remember sending emails asking very simple questions only for it to take days if not weeks just to get an answer.

Does she have the WC's phone #? Maybe she could try giving her a call directly just to double check.

I'm sure that the WC will respond before you guys depart for Jamaica, but in the event that the question goes unanswered, I would suggest that your daughter make sure she brings copies of those necessary legal documents with her. That way if anything wasn't received, she'll have it on hand with her & there won't be any issues that would prevent the wedding.

So while I'm sure its easier said than done, try to relax & just enjoy the thought that in a few short weeks, you'll be at your daughter's wedding & enjoying the sun & sand of Jamaica. Hopefully all will fall into place & there won't be any regrets in chosing RMB.

Good Luck!

Hi Kay, sorry about the delay in getting your responses. I dealt with this but it was better once I started putting my wedding date and time in the subject line. I see you are doing that and still not getting a response. I know when I was there she was overwhelmed and her computer was really slow. She normally came in about 9am. Kay try sending another one this morning. Please don't worry. In Jamaica they have such a laid back attitude which you will notice once you get there. Not saying I like it but everything got done and was beautiful. Last resort you could try calling. This email communication is one of the things I didn't like about planning a destination wedding but I have no regrets.

I just got an email from RIU MB from Nekeisha White. She says Chantelle has been sick and she is filling in. This could be why you haven't heard anything.

I haven't really had any problems. She has been good with getting back to me within a day or 2 when I email her.

Chantelle does not work at RIU Montego Bay anymore....probably because she wasn't getting her things done and answering the brides questions. I don't understand why they don't have a better FAQ list. The stuff I ask seems pretty standard..because I see that other brides are having to ask the same stuff.

I don't like when people say...everything is no problem..we are in Jamaica...just because it's a ladi back atmospher...does not mean you should be laid back about your wedding and preparations for your guests who are flying with you
