Time of day for ceremony... morning, sunset, etc?

I never though about rain! My FI and I have always thought a sunset wedding would be beautiful, but it will be a bit darker, the pics won't be the same. So much to think about! But thanks for the heads up!

We got married at 5PM, during sunset. It was picture perfect, defiantly not as hot as earlier in the day. It gave us time to hang out during the day, get a massage, get ready, etc. We just took pics after the ceremony and then went to the reception after that.

 

Typically if it rains down there, it is just for a short bit

I was torn on moving my 4pm time slot to earlier on in the day. I definitely want the bright blue pics, but I wasn't sure how everything would flow if the ceremony was earlier in the day and the dinner/reception wasn't until later in the day. So I talked to my photographer about the lighting and how blue the water is if we schedule earlier and her opinion was to keep the time as it is at 4pm. Her thoughts were if we went earlier, the sun is higher in the sky, causing more glare, more squinting, and is just more harsh overall. If we keep it at 4pm, the lighting is a little bit softer; we can still have everything flow nicely with dinner/reception/pics etc; we can get some beautiful shots during the sunset, and as far as the bright blue water in the background, she said that's something that she can easily correct/touch up so we still have the beautiful pics

So I'm keeping my 4pm time slot and now I just have to keep my fingers crossed for no rain, lol.

I am doing 4pm also. I figured enough time for me and my bridal party to get ready. Immediately following the ceremony will be the cocktail hour then the reception.

UGH.......the more i read the more nervous i get,i am gettting married in montego bay 10/22 @ 4pm,i think i might be doomed with rain i think i might need to stay in my own little bubble so i can keep my nerves in check

My FI and I just booked the trip to Ocho Rios, I hear about earling morning later afternoon, but what about mid-afternoon?

Does anyone know what the weather will be like early January at 4PM!? That's the time I've booked my wedding!

I"m getting married in Turks & Caicos in September 2011 and I searched 3 or 4 different weather related websites for details on weather patterns. The best ones I found were wunderground.com and turksandcaicos-guide.info. I decided on a morning ceremony on what I found and from this forum. Plus I want to wake up, get married and enjoy the day!

I am getting married at 4 p.m. in Jamaica to the man of my dreams. Nothing else matters. I would gladly stand in the rain and take our vows. It will be perfect no matter the weather. I would love to dance in the rain with my new husband.
